Hitch seems good quality. I purchased for a bike rack with the occasional kayak trailer being used. Used the same set up on last car, 2001 Mustang. Directions stated 30 min for professional to install, and 60 for novice. Double those numbers. Difficult to do with the car on ramps, would have made life easier to have a lift and be under the car. Removing and re-installing the under body cladding and frame parts to get to the point of install is the time consuming aspect. Directions list needed tools, but check list against your car's actual bolts and nuts. Instructions stated a T55 bit, but bolts actually needed a 12 mm triple square bit. Look under your car and be sure before you start. Directions don't show the correct location to cut the heat shield. It shows a 4" oval away from where it needs to be cut. A 1 1/2 - 2" hole saw works. Hole just needs to be large enough to expose the hole in the frame that you will be inserting the bolts and washer into. When tightening the hitch bolts, pull the hitch frame farthest to rear of vehicle you can. The clearance is tight when re-stalling the frame reinforcements required on the cabriolet. and they touch the hitch if you don't pull the hitch that last mm you can to rear of car when tightening the bolts. The hitch bolts up to the car frame as expected, no surprises and fits beneath the bumper taking away some ground clearance and may drag going up a steep driveway. My A5 has sport suspension, so it's lower by @ 3/4 inch than standard A5 clearance. Happy with purchase, just be prepared for a little extra install time.

2015 Audi S5

Solid receiver. Well made and precision. Installation instructions were very good, and tailored for the car. Definitely requires two people for part of the install (that's called out in the instructions), but true to form it was a bolt-on solution that almost looks factory. The only drilling was to open a hole in the heat shielding, which could be done with a light drill and some tin snips. Took about 2 hours. Great to be able to put the bike rack on the S5 Convertible and GO!

Still a solid hitch that serves the purpose, allowing me to take my bike anywhere, anytime. No signs of wear, rust, or anything.

2014 Audi A5

Worked perfectly fine. Towed a Uhaul trailer with my Audi A5 from Louisiana all the way up to Maryland. The installation took about 3 hours though. The way it attaches on an Audi was a little bit of a burden. I would say if you have at least a decent amount of mechanical experience wouldn’t be too hard but if you aren’t mechanically inclined at all, wouldn’t recommend trying to do it yourself.

Unfortunately, I ordered incorrect hitch and had to return item, however etrailer was tremendous throughout process and I ordered correct hitch. Thanks for being awesome!!

It fits perfectly to my audi a5 convertible 2010. The quality looks good, and installation is easy. I'll add my comments after I use the hitch a few weeks later.

The instructions of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11188 which is a fit for your 2011 Audi A5 Cabriolet with dual exhaust have been attached for you. If you have any questions about the instructions please let me know which part and I would be glad to help. The convertible models will require additional tools, a T25 and T55 torx bit. • Bike Rack Recommendation for 2012 Audi A5 Cabriolet and 2014 Volkswagen CC
There is a solution that will allow you to carry bikes with your 2012 Audi A5 Cabriolet and 2014 Volkswagen CC but since there are no trunk racks that fit the cabriolet Audis that isn't a route I can recommend. You will need to go with a hitch mounted option. Which for the Audi will require the part # C11188 for if you have dual mufflers or part # C11037 for if you have a single muffler. Then for a hitch for the 2014 Volkswagen CC you would need the Curt part # C11091. The most popular...

  • Is There a Trunk Mount Bike Rack for a 2015 Audi A5 Cabriolet
I do have an option to carry bikes on a 2015 Audi A5 Cabriolet but a trunk mount bike rack won't work due to the design of the vehicle. Instead, you will need to install a trailer hitch, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11188 (Dual Exhaust Only Models) is what I recommend. This will then allow you to use a hitch mount bike rack such as one from the list below.

  • How to Carry Bikes on 2015 Audi A5 Convertible
I have a bike rack solution for your 2015 Audi A5 convertible but none of the trunk racks we offer fit the convertibles. You'd want to go with a hitch mounted solution. For that we have two hitches available for your 2015 Audi A5 that could work for you depending on your exhaust style. Both work with convertible models. Happy New Year! I have an alternate option, but unfortunately the Saris Bones 2 Bike Rack # SA805BL is not a fit for the Sportback version of the 2014 Audi A5 and we do not have a trunk mount style that is compatible. While it is not the solution you were hoping for, the best option would be to add a hitch to your A5 and use a hitch mounted bike rack. From your recent searches, it looks like you are looking for a bike rack solution. The only options we have for your vehicle are hitch-mounted bike racks. I recommend it for your dual muffler configuration. Not all 2013 2.0T models have dual mufflers, there are some with a central muffler and only dual tips on the driver's side, but the vast majority are dual muffler.
