This adapter allows us to use a bike rack we have across all our cars. It is perfect for light duty applications, easy to use and it can be stored in the trunk until you need it. I would definitely recommend it.

by:

It works great I kinda wish I had gotten two of them ‘mmmm

by:

I was concerned that the adapter might not fit on my 2023 Toyota Venza, LE, but it fits just fine. So, the notice that the adapter will not fit a class one hitch does not apply to the Venza, even though the Venza specifications indicates it is a class one hitch.

by:

I ordered a hitch and adaptor and it came in 2 days rather then 3 as estimated. I gave me an extra day to install ot before our vacation. It fit perfect! the installation kit and directions made the job easy peasy. was very pleased

by:

shipped promptly. Good product. Good Co mpanys

by:

Good product to upsize the receiver for Kuat bike carrier.

by:

Etrailer is by far the best place to get the stuff you need for towing! I will never go through any other company for the stuff I need!

by:

I had to file some weld slug on 2 inch receiver. No big deal, but I had to touch up the paint.

by:

Haven't used it yet but assume it will do the job. Need it to install 2" receiver hitch bike rack on my Subaru which only has the 1.25" receiver.

Does the job as advertised. Happy with this purchase.

Little loose but works as expected than ks

by:

We have been purchasing parts from etrailer for years and have always had nothing short of great customer service and have no plans to do anything different. Keep up the great service

by:

With each order, it was shipped quickly and efficiently! I ordered one part wrong, return was easy and the part I needed was shipped quickly. Highly recommend etrailer.com for all of your needs.

by:

The product is well made and fit was good. The looseness of the fit was good to fit different types of locking pins but not too loose to make a loud rattling noise.

by:

Perfect fit for the car. etrailer.com knows their stuff and never disappoints. They also recommend the associated pins for this converter and both worked exactly as expected. I have purchased every hitch, component, part, converter, etc. from them since about 2005 and used their site as an invaluable reference for installation. They never fail. Love this site.

by:

Ordered a hitch for my mazda3. I already had a hitch mount bike rack I was using on another vehicle but needed an adapter to use in the new rack. Ordered the rack and adapter. Within an hour I get an email and phone call from Michelle saying I ordered an adapter that would not work with the hitch I got. She said she would correct the order and get the correct parts out immediately. Within a few days I had the hitch and correct adapter delivered to my house. Customer service like this is second to none. Can’t believe how in tune they are at going beyond what you would expect from an online company. A++++ all around. Highly recommend

by:

Works well for my bike rack on a small car. My bike rack is made for the 2" receiver on my RV. This way, I only have to have one bike rack that works for 2 vehicles

by:

Over the years I have been very happy withmy purchases from etrailer in general. This little adapter is another good purchase. I bought this one over the other offered because the finish is better. I believe the quality welding and smooth finish will help keep the corrosion at bay for a bit longer and it looks nicer. I appreciate etrailer.com putting forth the effort to provide good pictures for comparison and to ensure the overall dimensions are going to work.

by:

I found exactly what I wanted and the experience was awesome.

by:

Works Great Thanks for the professional help

by:

Fit perfectly to allow me to carry my bicycle rack.

by:

I bought this in case I wanted a hitch attachment that needed the 2" receiver. It is a sturdy piece which should be very reliable.

by:

Excellent tool for conversion. It also adds clearance between the end of the receiver and my bumper, a requirement for my car and bike rack.

by:

We received our hitch very quickly. Unfortunately it didn't fit. We've been going thru trying to get a return sticker since last Tuesday...and this is Saturday. We've called them 6 times. The last 3 were not returned.
We are not happy campers.

  • Is Adapter Needed To Install TriLift Scooter Lift on 2007 Dodge Caliber With a Class I Hitch
I looked up the TriLift scooter lift and they list the lift as working on a Class I 1-1/4 inch hitch, but they limit the weight of your scooter to be less than 115 lbs. The Hitch Adapter, part # 80303, that you have referenced, can only be used with a Class II receiver. The only hitches available for your 2007 Dodge Caliber are a Class I hitch. The #80303 hitch adapter will not work. The problem when using a hitch adapter is that you will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch...

  • Adapting a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch on a 2008 Ford Edge to use a 2 Inch Bike Rack
You can use this 1 1/4 inch to 2 inch adapter, part # 80303. However, use of this adapter will LOWER the tongue weight capacity (should be listed on a sticker that is on your hitch) by 50 percent. This means that the bikes you want to carry and the carrier itself cannot weigh more than half of the listed tongue weight for your trailer hitch. Exceeding this capacity could result in damage to your hitch and loss of the rack and the bicycles.

  • Bike Rack Compatible With Curt Class I Receiver On a 2017 Hyundai Ioniq
With the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11486 for your 2017 Hyundai Ioniq only being a class I receiver you will need to use a bike rack like the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack # SH12G that is compatible with class I receivers. The Kuat will allow for up to 2 bikes weighing 40lbs per bike. As your Yakima Dr. Tray having the 2" hitch it is only going to be compatible with a class III receivers. Also the Hitch Adapter # 80303 that you saw is only compatible with class II receivers. Curt does...

  • Can a Hitch Adapter be Used in Class II Receiver on 2007 Ford Edge to Carry 5 Bikes
The receiver adapter you mention, part # 80303 can be used so that your bike rack will work with the Class II hitch on your Edge, but you will not be able to carry all 5 bikes on it. Using an adapter like the 80303 will lower the tongue weight capacity (maximum amount of weight that can be safely suspended from the hitch) by 50 percent, from 300 lbs to 150 lbs. This would mean that the rack plus the weight of all the bikes stored on it cannot weigh more than 150 lbs. Since the average...

The Hidden Hitch 1-1/4 Inch to 2 Inch Hitch Adapter, part # 80303, is our shortest adapter, but can only be used with a Class II receiver. If you have a Class I receiver, you will need part # HTAD. Part # 80303 will stick out about 1-1/4 inch less, than # HTAD. We do have hitches available for your 2004 Scion xB, like the Curt # C11487 but they are a Class I with a 2000 lb towing/200 lb tongue weight capacity. The capacity of the hitch will be limited by the towing capacity of the vehicle, if it's less. I noticed you had looked at the hitch adapters like # 80303 that would allow a hitch accessory with a 2 inch shank work in a hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. These adapters are only compatible with a Class II hitch, which has a higher weight...

The easiest way to determine if you have a Class I or Class II OEM hitch, would be to contact a Subaru dealer or check your owners manual. If that does not work out, you will need to check out the hitch opening itself to see if there is a stop stamped into the hitch behind the hitch pin hole. If you have a Class I hitc,h there will be a stop designed into the opening, approximately 1-9/16 inches behind the center of the hitch pin hole, that will not allow a Class II accessory to line up...

The item you selected, Draw-Tite Class 1 Sportframe Trailer Hitch, part # 24692 is not compatible with a 2 inch adapter or reducer, part # 80303. Part # 24692, is a Class 1 hitch and is designed to not to work with a 2 inch adapters, because of the weigh capacity of a Class I hitch. I have included a video review of this adapter below. Please note that when using an adapter, the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch is reduced by 50 percent.
