The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.I was impressed with the video for the installation on my 2015 Volvo XC60. 100% spot on instructions. The removal of the exhaust housings is a must so you might as well put that in from the beginning. Unfortunately, my Volvo had been retrofitted with three different mounting screws and made the removal of these miserable! No fault of etrailer! Once I was able to remove them the hitch install was very straight forward and zero issues with the hitch itself. The 76116 was a good choice with the added extension so the hatch would clear my bike when on the rack! !00% satisfied and would highly recommend it.
Fits Great. Installation video is excellent, much better than the Draw-tite written instructions which included some minor but frustrating errors. Customer service was also great in answering some questions related to hitch choice and providing a courtesy call when the delivery was going to be unexpectedly delayed.

Great, its been used for some long trips with full loads and no issues.
Fits my 2014 Volvo XC60 absolutely perfectly. Bike racks, trailers and hitch baskets all work awesome.

Works great! Used it for bikes and a basket for yard waste.
Kit was complete solution, works as advertised. I could have installed myself, but my local car guy did it for me and parts plus labor still a relative bargain.
I installed this on my wife’s Volvo. I’m definitely above-average on the DIY scale and this wasn’t too bad for me to install. I used ramps to get the rear of the car high enough so I could work somewhat like a gentleman underneath. Dropping the exhaust on the car wasn’t terrible at all, nor was cutting out the heat shield for the new connection points. The video was a great reference and watched it a few (many!) times before and during the install. The toughest part for me was one of the bolts and plates fought me for about 20-30min trying to snake it through the chassis on the passenger side. Aside from that I think it was a great installation kit. Wife is happy and have used it for a bike rack for about a year now.
I bought this product so I could mount a Thule bike hitch rack on my Volvo XC60. I tried my hand at installing the trailer hitch myself, but after a couple of hours with very little progress (like, was still on step 1), I decided to take it to a mechanic. A hundred-and-some-dollars later it has worked as advertised. I'd definitely recommend the product but would not recommend installing it yourself.
I purchased and installed a trailer hitch and wiring for my 2015 Volvo XC60. The website is great, easy to use, great products and choices. I required some assistance with my order, called, and their rep Jesse was friendly and very helpful. The kit arrived sooner than expected, intact and well packaged. I've installed a few hitches over the years and this is a great kit, especially the plug-in wiring harness. The hitch installation is a little tricky, you have to remove some parts and fish the mounting bolts into the frame with wires, but the kit is well thought out with all parts provided. The fit is perfect and it looks great. Thank you etrailer - I'll be back!
This Drawtite trailer hitch arrived promptly, 3 days after placing the order. The hitch, which is obviously heavy steel and an irregular shape with a few sharp points of protrusion. Etrailer used a very heavy carton as a shipping container that had clearly been reinforced with additional layers of thick cardboard at strategic locations. While the carton did have a couple small holes, the hitch was secure inside and there was no damage. I was impressed with the attention that was given to the packaging. I found the installation videos to be clear and informative. However, mostly for not having all the proper tools at hand, I had the hitch installed by my mechanic. He did report it was challenging to get the hitch to fit my Volvo XC60. The job took nearly two hours but in the end it was correctly installed.
Installation on my 2015 Volvo XC60 was very strait forward (especially using the video instructions). We used it for a cargo carrier travelling about 2000 miles. We did find that the position of the carrier on this hitch on this car, the carrier was in line with the exhaust pipe causing a tarp we were using to cover luggage to melt. Nothing against the hitch, just an FYI for anyone else who may plan to use it the same way.
Loved the instructional videos which gave me confidence I could install the hitch myself. However, the mounting holes between the hitch and the vehicle did not align properly and I had to come up with some innovative ways to force enough alignment to insert the bolts. The fishing wire to insert the bolts is great, but advice should be given to tie a string to the other end in case you need to start over and pull the bolt back out. Fortunately, I got the bolts through, but worried at a couple points where I thought I would be stuck with a loose bolt in my vehicle frame when I was struggling to get the alignment straight. In the end, it all worked after taking most of my day to figure out the alignment solution without resorting to drilling new holes in my vehicle frame. It just was not as simple as shown in the video. I was also very surprised by the delivery packaging. My hitch arrived with a significant portion of it sticking out of the packaging. It appears the hitch is not not securely bound by the packaging.

Solid construction, no corrosion with use in/around salt water, and heavily salted winter roads. Backed into a landscaping rock and barely a scratch on the hitch receiver.
Great hitch. Mounted it on a 2015 Volvo XC90 T6 R Design. I highly recommend taking off the bumper to make getting the bolts in the frame. It also allowed me to snake the trailer wire connector to the hitch.
Easy to order. Ship very fast. Installation was just as described in the available online video. Very satisfied. Will definitely use etrailer again and will recommend to anyone in need of a hitch and their other products
A more challenging hitch to install than many. Not much room to fit it in there on my Volvo xc60 2014, but once installed, looks great and does what it is supposed to do.

No issues after a year. I only use this for my bike rack as I have a full size truck for actual towing. But it feels very substanstial and I wouldnt hesitate to tow my trailer with it.
