All the parts supplied by etrailer were great and fit perfectly. The issue, that I wish I had thought about is the age of the vehicle. If you are installing the hitch on an older vehicle (mine was 13 years old) then you may want to test install some bolts in the attachment locations to see how readily they can accept the hitch. My attachment locations for the bolts were corroded and needed many hours of work to clean them up to accept the actual installation bolts.

Nice quality receiver hitch - it is well constructed and finished. It fit my vehicle exactly - the only difficulty I ran into during the installation was that I had to chase the 12mm threads of the existing bolt holes that are on my SRX for the factory hitch. After 6 years, the wire brush thread cleaning technique shown on the etrailer.com site's video was not sufficient. But other than that, it was a very easy installation made simpler by the instructions in the box and aforementioned website installation video. I will definitely buy from etrailer.com again!

Looks awesome. Got the same color Caddy and was looking to put this on. It hitch looks fairly flush with the back and i love how you put the plastic back on to hide the side bar. Was cutting the middle plastic piece hard?

Jerry, am installing hitch on wifes srx ,been thinking there must be a way to cut the facia plate to hide some of the openess. Looks like you solved the issue,care to share on exactly you did this. I am able to cut and machine things , but advise from some like yourself is always helpful. Thank you

It has been over a year so I kinda forget detail but I do remember I removed a small amount of plastic. It was easy with a plung saw and using a 1 blade. The only trouble with the way I did it is you have to modify your locking pin when you install hitch. You cant push pin whole way thru hole to hole due to plastic restricting that pushing all the way from one side to the other. However I made change to a new pin I brought at Harbor Freight to handle the job just fine. Hope this is of some help . If you look close at second picture you can see what I removed from the center plastic car shield.

I'm going to first explain why I give this hitch a 5-star rating. Other sites, vendors one very large ends in 'azon' had them for cheaper, but many of the reviews said the holes didn't line up, called for drilling and hammering. This product I didn't see many of that and that is how my experience was. Yes, the hitch is heavy if you do it by yourself, very cumbersome but at least the holes lined up. I started the two bolts in front to hold it in place, take the weight. After that got all the bolts in. Only problem I had, one of the bolts was the wrong size/pitch. Had to go to the hardware store and get the right bolt, that was kind of a bummer. Other than that, it did line up pretty good, very good and yes it's heavy by yourself. Looks good once installed.

The quality of the trailer hitch was excellent and the installation on my 2011 Cadillac SRX was as shown in the video though it took a little longer because I spent a little extra time modifying the center panel to fit it back in place.
I was so pleased with the quality of the product, ease of installation, and the quick shipping time that I just ordered the Swagman XTC-2 bike rack for my vehicle!
I am looking forward to using the hitch to transport our bikes and tailgating at our Clemson football games! Go Tigers!!!

That is a Thule T2 bike rack, part TH916XTR which has now been updated to part # TH92BJ which will fit with a 2 inch and a quarter inch hitch. If you have any questions about the racks, let me know. 2011 Cadillac SRX
I installed the trailer hitch by myself on a 2011 Cadillac SRX. It was a challenge but doable. All the bolt holes lined up perfectly. The instructions were easy to follow, however, the video on the etrailer helped a lot. I also trimmed the cover, that was removed prior to assembling, to conceal the larger hole. I also bought a cargo carrier to fit in the hitch.

I watched the video on installation and it was super easy. It took me longer to open all the boxes than to install the hitch.
One thing I highly recommend is checking that all the bolts fit in the pre-tapped holes in your car. One hole in particular had some obstruction I couldn't remove with a brush or even compressed air, so I ran an M12 tap to clear the treads and that took care of it. This would have been a lot harder if I had the hitch mounted in place already.
I also bought the wiring harness and the universal mount kit for my 4-pole light plug. This all fit as easy as the hitch itself.
Great value too.

Great hitch,simple to install. Had problems getting the controller and all the wiring behind the tail light. I think this controller is larger than the one in the video. It only takes a pair of tin snips and a few minutes of cutting to make the center facia look and fit great.

The poor rating is for shipping not the product. The hitch is scratched up and bent. The box was left outside my property and the hitch was sticking out of the box. It was also pretty late when it showed up and a day later than promised.

Straightened it up, painted it up, mounted it, been using it successfully thus far. Pin and chain retaining are close together but it tucks in nicely to the bumper and does not get in the way when using back hatch.

As always, etrailer comes through with the best service and product. Received the hitch receiver in perfect condition. All parts needed were included as were the instructions. And the on-line video for installation seem routine with no surprises. It took me longer to setup and clean up than it did to actually install the hitch. And like others, I cut the cover to fit over the hitch just to tidy things up a bit more. I'm sure the hitch will work perfectly for all my needs and for many years thereafter.

I received my order (hitch receiver and electrical hookup) in a very prompt manner. I did take several weeks for me to get around to the install. But when I did, it was as easy and quick as stated. The electrical connection plugged right in without much effort at all. The receiver was a perfect fit. Bolted right on! I didn't include pictures because my vehicle is already very well covered in that regard. Same color and all.
Bottom line is the whole set up is very cost effective and was completely done installing within 45 minutes. Couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you e-trailer!!
