Recommendation on a Hitch and Motorcycle Carrier for a 2016 Cadillac SRX
Question:
I have a 2016 Cadillac SRX. Can I carry a Kawasaki KLR650 on a hitch motorcycle carrier? It weighs 375 lbs. if so, what hitch and carrier would you recommend?

We do carry trailer hitches that will fit your 2016 Cadillac SRX. However, your vehicle does not have a large enough tongue weight rating to be hauled using a hitch mount motorcycle carrier.
According to the owner's manual for the 2016 Cadillac SRX, the maximum tongue weight is 250 lbs.Your motorcycle is too large to be carried using a hitch mounted motorcycle carrier. The motorcycle weight of 375 lbs plus the weight of the carrier would be way over the tongue weight limit for your Cadillac. Tongue weight rating is the maximum amount of weight allowed at the hitch point of the vehicle and trailer.
For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max Frame Trailer Hitch # 75682. The Draw-Tite hitch is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver opening. The maximum tongue weight rating of this hitch is up to 400 lbs, but that does not raise your vehicle's tongue weight. The max tongue weight on the vehicle will still be 250 lbs.
If your vehicle has the tow package wiring installed, I recommend # 118259 from Tekonsha. The Tekonsha harness is an easy plug harness that is designed to plug in to the existing wiring harness of the Cadillac. If your vehicle does not have the tow package wiring, then I recommend # C59496. This kit will allow you to hardwire into your vehicle's wiring to allow you to run power to your trailer lights.
