Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

The trailer hitch is a heavy duty well made hitch

Had questions, about products, that weren't listed in "specifications" for custom fit trailer hitches. Kimberly O was extremely helpful and professional in giving me details pertaining to ETrailer products. I will continue doing business with them in the future!

Solid product and fit perfectly, beautiful and solid as an Ibeam. Greater trailer electrical plug than original!!

Working great. No issues at all.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado

Item arrived with no visual problems and all the hardware. Instructions were easy to follow and easy to install. I installed it by my self in about 1 hour. All the mounting holes lined up with no problems to be found. The hitch will be used for med to light cargo trailer hauling and a cargo carrier. This hitch replaces one which rotted off on my 2007 Silverado which I have included a pic.

Works great. Absolutely no issues.

by:

Took 20 minutes to put on. You will need a 22mm deep socket, 3/4 deep socket, 21mm deep socket, and a torque wrench. I use a 3 ton floor Jack to hold one side in place while I lined up the holes bolted right up. Shipping was very fast to. Lake day tomorrow

Excellent

by:

installed this almost 2 years ago, still in great shape, no signs of rust or corrosion and this is in a heavy wintertime road salt area. Definitely would/will purchase again if needed in the future.

by:

The hitch went on in under 30 minutes. Look great this is my sixteen year old sons first vehicle. The old hitch rusted out. Now he can tow stuff around the farm. Thank you so much.

by:

Excellent customer service,my first order with etrailer, what a pleasure, delivery was spot on,product seems great, haven't actually pulled a trailer yet,in my case it is a replacement, had the old one off already upon delivery,22 minutes to install from off the delivery truck,to clean up,perfect fit as promised,I say it went on without a hitch!!!! personally I would have liked to see the bracket mount plate doubled, would just seem stronger to me,posted is the old one maybe you can see what I mean, but I have zero I'll remarks, like a kid in a candy store, can't wait tu actually use it,I did the install the moment the delivery came up the driveway

by:

Thank you for selling an awesome trailer hitch at a great price. My hitch was delivered by UPS a week after I ordered it and it was delivered without a scratch. Etrailer had an instruction video on their website that could not have made the replacement of my rusted out OEM hitch any easier. No problem at all in aligning any of the new hitches bolt holes with frame holes and bumper holes on my truck. New Draw-Tite hitch came with new mounting hardware that is hardness rated and protected with corrosion resistant coatings. Etrailer kept me up to date concerning status of my purchase with emails and after I got delivery of hitch. Thank You all at Etrailer!

Delivery fast and easy install

by:

Item received promptly. Hitch lined up very well with existing factory holes. The only thing i did not like was the use of carrige bolts instead of bolts with heads on them. When trying to tighten the carrige bolts with the plates the plates were not quite big enough and they would spin when trying to tighten.
Overall I would recommend this product.

by:

I purchased this to replace the factory hitch which had rusted out. It was very easy to install, probably an hour to remove the old one and install the new. Fits around the spare tire perfectly and is flush with the bumper.

Great hitch, still going strong. Use it with a Reese load distributing trunion on a Silverado 1500 4x4 to pull a 4500 pound camper. Keeps it level and no pushing or sagging going over rough terrain. Would purchase again, get one!

2005 Chevrolet Silverado

This hitch is an excellent value. It feels very beefy and well made. The steel is much larger and thicker than the OEM receiver that came off my 2005 Silverado due to corrosion. I really like that this hitch utilizes all 8 of the factory mounting holes, unlike some of the others which only utilize 4 or 6 of them. New hardware was provided, along with small plates to go inside the frame rail to better distribute the weight along the truck's frame. The bracket for the 7 pin plug is a nice extra too.

by:

Excellent factory match on 2007 Silverado. Only mod was to cut off the old harness mount and screw it onto the new hitch. Great product good value.

2012 Chevrolet Silverado

I'm giving this review only four stars and here's why. I attached this trailer hitch to my son's 2012 Siverado chevrolet. The trailer hitch came with 4 carriage bolts along with their washers and nuts and four regular bolts with their washers and lock washers. The carriage bolts went on fine had no problem installing those four carriage bolts, but when it came to installing the four regular black bolts that's when I encountered problems. So let me explain what happened. The four black bolts, two of which screw into the truck frame and the other two actually screw into the bumper of the truck. Now starting with the truck frame you have two bolts that you have to remove first before you can install the new bolts. The driver side bolt came out just fine and I was able to install the new one with no problem. The passenger side bolt however for some reason had a nut screwed on top of the bolt and was like welded on this bolt and would not come out. I wound up using a cutting wheel tool to cut the bolt off the frame. To resolve this problem I had to buy, actually three new bolts two washers and one lock washer and one nut. to finish the job. One of the new bolts along with tow washers and a lock washer and nut replaced the passenger side frame of the truck bed and the other two new bolts went into the holes in the bumper because the black bolts that came with the hitch would not fit the holes in the bumper even after I used a wire brush and a lot of WD40 and those bolts still wouldn't screw into those wholes and that's why I had to buy the extra 2 bolts which by the way were AMS 1/2" bolts. The bolts that came with the hitch I do believe had to been metric because the bolts I bought had no problem screwing into the holes nice and tight. I finally finished the install of the hitch and it worked like a champ. The Hitch is made of high grade material and I love it. It's strong and rugged and it pulls my son's small trailer just fine. Over all I'm very satisfied with the hitch, but beware of some of the hardware that comes with it.

by:

Hitch arrived in great shape - installation was as simple and straightforward as described in the video - Even had my wife help with holding hitch in place while I bolted it in place - going to use it for ebike carrier - Thanks etrailer

2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic

After discovering original hitch was rusted with holes in it, I went on a search for a new hitch. etrailers website was super easy to navigate, and found many hitches that fit my truck. Ordering, shipping and installation was a breeze. Would order from again if need arises.

by:

Replaced a worn out factory hitch on a 2012 Silverado 1500. Already had the old one off and in the scrap yard before this one arrived. Took about 15 to install. No need to use a jack or lifts, just lay on the ground and bolt it on. Only time will tell how well it holds up.
Would have given it 5 stars but the order was placed Friday night and even though it was in stock it didn't ship until Wednesday.
Including photos of new install and old one.

GMC

This trailer hitch receiver has been great. It had detailed instructions, all the necessary hardware, and after removing the spare tire off my GMC, an easy install! Two pieces of advice I'd give to anyone getting ready to replace their hitch would be, clean and spray rust eater on all the nuts and bolts getting removed to install the hitch, and pay attention to how low your existing receiver is from your bumper to how low this one is, or any new one is. This one dropped my ball almost an 1½", so I had to make adjustments to my camper weight distribution setup so the camper would be level when fully hooked up. Thank you for your time!

by:

What can I say... everything was perfect! I needed it fast (for a job I had to do) it showed up in 2 days at a great price. Hitch fit perfectly, the parts were all there, the website was easy to navigate and find the right hitch. The job I needed it for was a success. Thank you!

  • Will a Hitch For a 2001 Chevy Silverado Also Fit a 2001 Chevy Tahoe
I have a solution for you, but a hitch like the Draw-Tite # 75521 that fits on a 2001 Chevy Silverado will not also fit on the 2001 Chevy Tahoe. The correct hitch for a 2001 Chevy Tahoe is the # C13402, which also has a Class III 2 inch receiver similar to the # 75521.

The correct Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is part # 75521, not part # 75033 which is for an older model. Trailer hitches are designed for an exact year, make, and model and you cannot modify or adapt them to fit other applications.

  • Will The Draw-Tite 75521 Fit A 2007 GMC Sierra Classic 1500 With Aftermarket Bumper?
If the bumper you ordered is a direct factory replacement, then there should be no issues with getting the Draw-Tite # 75521 hitch installed. Unfortunately, if it is not a factory replacement, we can't guarantee the fitment. All the hitches we carry are designed from the manufacturer to fit stock vehicle and parts. With that being said, you should be able to tell pretty quickly if the new bumper will accept the hitch. I included an install video we did on an 07 Sierra for you to check...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness for Light Towing with 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500
I would always recommend using a hitch instead of a bumper mount. A bumper mount is not adjustable and getting the trailer level is a big part of towing safely, additionally a hitch is a stronger and more secure method. We have a small hitch, that installs using 6 holes already in the truck frame and does not require any drilling. Average mechanical ability should be sufficient to install it in about a half hour.
