Determining Tow Capacity of 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
Have never utilized towing. Vehicle has 150000 miles. No mechanical issues. What is towing capacity and what hitch would work best for towing an RV. How many more miles might my vehicle work?

Looks like the towing capacity of your truck is 3,800 to 7,700 lbs depending on how it's equipped. You'll want to check your owners manual with the engine size info of the truck handy to determine how much you can tow. Or you could contact a Chevy dealer.
The Draw Tite hitch part # 75521 would have more than enough capacity and is a fit for your truck so it would be a great option. It's really hard to say how much longer your truck would hold out. If it was maintained well and you don't mine minor repairs I think you'd be totally fine to keep towing with it.
