Completely Hidden for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch is designed to be completely out of sight. The hitch cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind the body of your vehicle. No drilling or welding is required. The receiver portion of the hitch will sit just behind the factory knockout panel in your bumper. Just pop the panel off to tow and put it back on again for a from-the-factory look when you're done using the hitch.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will stand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

Love the hitch. Took me awhile to install on my 15’ but worth it. Half day for hitch install for me and another half day for the wiring harness (because I ran a new home run power cable from battery to trunk). Also I installed a permanent 4 pin bracket on my bottom fascia of bumper. Very happy with it!

by:

The fit is perfect. Following the video, installation took about 2 hours. I use it only to carry bikes on my 1up bike rack. This rack works well because you don't use a hitch pin, it's very hard to place the pin. Would recommend this WRX hitch over any other, the only thing hanging below any WRX in the rear should be nice sounding pipes! The picture shows the only body mod I had to do to get a perfect fit, just to make sure hitch didn't rub the rear body.

2021 Subaru WRX

In the first year of owning this trailer, it has been with me from Florida to Maine carrying coolers on a platform, it has brought our bikes to Georgia, and hauled loads of mulch.

The install on my ‘21 Subaru WRX STI was straightforward and I had no issue at all following the provided instructions. It perfectly aligns with the cutout in the bumper and is perfectly invisible when not in use, just as advertised.

I have nothing but the utmost confidence that this trailer will last the lifetime of my car or longer with its sturdiness and reliability.

by:

I have a 2017 Subaru STI and this fits like a dream. Make sure you have a 2-3 hours to do this because the entire back of your car needs to come off but it's definitely worth it. Only the ball hitch is visible when you choose to haul something. Any other time it's invisible. Peep the pics

by:
2019 Subaru WRX

This was on the only hitch receiver option that I could find that used the factory knockout on my 2019 WRX. I really did not want to use an under-mount receiver because of reduced clearance. Also, it would place my bike rack too close to the exhaust.

Installation was fairly complex compared to the last receiver that I installed (on a different vehicle). However, I expected this after viewing the installation video. The video was very helpful.

I have been very happy with the product so far. Placing a locking hitch pin is a bit of a pain, but I plan to leave my bike rack attached to the car most of time, so this is not a big deal for me.

No issues. Still happy with receiver.

I love my e trailer! Hides away unseen. Wiring works flawlessly. I've had it about a year thus far. Have not had any issues. 10/10 would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Still love it like the day it was installed.

by:

This product is great quality and was a perfect fit. The support videos really helped with installation. Also this hitch is great as you can't even tell it's there when I'm not using it, I would absolutely recommend it.

by:

Really easy to install and durable product! Really solid fitment on a 2020 wrx sti. I highly recommend cutting the bottom of your bumper to make placing trailer pins less of a chore.

by:
2018 Subaru WRX

However, the product was ok, but I had a really bad customer service experience with etrailer.com
I purchased the light harness from etrailer.com after installing the hitch receiver, the shipment was delayed, it arrived 2 weeks later than the expected date. I had to purchase a universal light harness from U-Haul because I needed it urgent. The light harness arrived at my old place after I moved to a different city, I had to pay Tax to get it and I needed to pay another shipping fee in order to return the product. This isn't really my fault for paying these extra money for a useless product, if it couldn't arrive on time I could have been told when I make the purchase, and I wouldn't even buy it. The wrong information was provided wasting my time and money.

by:

Installation was as advertised and has served me well to date, no complaints.

by:

I’ve purchased a new product and was given a used one, with OBVIOUS cosmetic faults - I’ll take it to a garage to check for integrity…
But either way, felt lied to. Will avoid this store for future purchases!

by:

Install was very easy. If youre worried about dropping the exhaust just remove the cats like i did

by:
Subaru Forester

It’s been a year since installation. I use it for my bike rack on my ‘21 WRX. Install was done by myself and was a little more involved than my Forester and Outback installations but the clean look is totally worth it.

by:

Perfect fit

by:
2015 Subaru WRX

This hitch is a little pricey, but worth it! It virtually disappears behind the bumper and works really well. If you hate the look of a hitch on your car, but still want the functionality for towing or accessories, this is perfect.

by:

Simply amazing!
No rattles, great fitment
and above all a great video delineating all the details on every screw and clamp removal. I did this on my own without raising the car on jack stands or even dropping the rear hanger bushing. Total install time thanks to the video was under 2 hours and that included cleanup!
Also the hitch was delivered quickly so I got a jump on it before the weekend came. Very happy with etrailer and this hitch. I’ve gotten a few from etrailer already including one for my S2000 a few years ago that worked perfectly.

Thank you

by:

Good quality and packaging. Install video was very helpful, watched it twice before receiving product, and when I went to install, I didn't even open the instructions. Very detailed and informative to the process on a rather intricate vehicle (step by step walkthrough).

by:

I'm very happy with this product, and it met my expectations. I usually load up a rooftop tent for camping, so that leaves no room for my mountain bikes. I wanted to make my WRX more capable to being an overall great car for outdoor activities by adding this ecohitch. Now I can also add a basket to load more cargo if necessary. Installation was easy to follow, and I recommend having at least one person to help you. It will make the installation process a lot easier. I also found the etrailer installation video very helpful and easy to follow.

by:

I like it a lot. It’s nice how if I don’t want it to be seen then I can take the ball out and out the cover in and nobody will know I even have a hitch. But the hitch has worked great. My only issue is it’s difficult to get the pin in for the ball hitch but that’s a minor issue. And I expected that from getting the hitch that’s hidden. So I have no complaints.

2015 Subaru WRX

Love it. The Q&A on this site it sounded like I wasn't going to be able to use my Thule T2 Pro XT rack but with an adapter (I got a high-low adapter, you could use an extender as well but I wanted the smallest adapter I could find which ended up being a 4-inch high-low for ~$60) I was able to make it work. The only downside to this method is that it causes the hitch to stick pretty far out from the back of the car (pictured).

Installation wasn't that bad, it ended up taking two days because I stripped the bolts on the actual bumper and that took me forever to figure out but if not for that this was probably about 3 hours to install with no mechanical know-how.

by:
2020 Subaru WRX

Absolutely amazing trailer hitch, very easy to install and very robust unit. Quality material was used, I feel like I could load up a car hauler and drag around stuff in my WRX. This will be used for a bike rack but during the install I said “this is overkill but for the price, it’s worth it”. Would recommend this to anyone. Someone with e 10mm, 14mm, and a 19mm socket could easily install this on a nice day with a drink of your choice.

by:

The hitch was very difficult to install without a lift. I couldn't reach the exhaust hanger in the middle of the car and therefore the mufflers were in the way the whole time. The hitch works great and it's gone with the cover back on. The hitch was shipped in a box without any packing material which caused it to punch holes in the box as well as get all chipped and scratched up. Overall, if you get a lift and a friend (like the video says) and ignore the shipping damages, you'll be very happy having this very clean and useful hitch.

by:
2016 Subaru WRX

The whole installation took about 5 hours with a lift and shop full of tools. Fit perfectly and the video instructions make it a breeze. the written instructions left a little to be desired with the pictures but the site has plenty of those.

by:
2015 Subaru WRX

Solid product. Only complaint is the restricted access to the hitch pin. Not really a valid complaint because you can clearly see this will be the case before buying. Make a small cut away from the underside of your bumper and getting your hand is is doable but still not easy.

Overall happy with the construction and material available for technical support on the web.

by:
2016 Subaru WRX

Fits perfectly and install was straight forward! A ratchet strap is helpful in positioning the hitch during installation, and make sure to remove the two rear most exhaust hangers prior to installing so the hitch can slide in.

  • How Much Does EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver Weigh For the 2015 Subaru WRX
The shipping weight of the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit part # 306-X7257 is about 31 lbs. This hitch fits 2015 - 2019 Subaru WRX. It is a completely hidden design so the hitch is completely out of sight for a clean factory look on the WRX. I have attached a video for your reference.

  • Installation of EchHitch 306-X7257 on 2016 Subaru WRX
The EcoHitch # 306-X7257 will fit a 2016 Subaru WRX as long as it's equipped with the knock-out panel in the lower rear fascia. I don't have a specific recommendation for an installer, any trusted mechanic should be able to handle the installation. In this case, the rear bumper cover/fascia needs to be temporarily removed and part of the fascia needs to be trimmed, as does some of the heat shielding. A body shop might be a better alternative, as they'd be more well versed in removal and...

  • Will Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier Fit EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch 306-X7257 On 2018 Subaru WRX?
You are correct that from the center of the hitch pin hole to the most outward part of the rear bumper with the EcoHitch # 306-X7257 installed is right at 3-1/2". Since from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches # UF48-979033 is 15-1/2" you will have plenty of clearance to use this carrier with your 2018 Subaru WRX. The EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 306-X7257, has a distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the receiver of 1-1/8". This is not enough to use the Thule EasyFold XT, part # TH903202, or any other Thule bike rack. Instead, I recommend using the Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack, part # BA22B. It can hold two bikes up to 60 pounds each. It is a wheel-mount rack that has keyed-alike locks. I've linked to a video review of this below.

Yes, the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # SH22G that you referenced will work perfectly with the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7257 on your 2018 Subaru WRX. The Sherpa 2.0 features a length of 1-5/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, well under the max 2-1/2 inches that the EcoHitch will allow with a hitch-mounted accessory.
