Weight of EcoHitch 306-X7257 Class III Receiver Hitch
Question:
I see that the weight ratings for carrying capacity are listed, but how much weight does the hitch receiver itself weigh? I am very interested in the product but am concerned about the weight it would add to my car and how it would impact performance. Having a figure on the lbs this part itself weighs without it being in use will assuage these concerns so I can feel secure in buying this in the coming months. Thank you!

Including the mounting hardware kit, the EcoHitch # 306-X7257 which is a fit for the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX weighs just under 40 lbs.
If a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening would work for you, and you feel that the # 306-X7257 would be too heavy, the Curt Class I, part # C11408 weighs about 10 lbs less, at just shy of 30 lbs.
The weight of either hitch shouldn't have any affect on the vehicle's performance or handling. I've linked to installation videos for both hitches mentioned above.
