Install your electric brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in harness beneath your vehicle's dash.
Features:
This adapter plugs into the port that is built into the electric junction box beneath your vehicle's dash. The black box is located to the left of the steering column, just above the carpet. To plug in the adapter, first remove the cover on the box. The adapter plugs into the second slot from the left, on the top row.
To install your electric brake controller you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Certain manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein these wires are run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. Often, a brake controller wiring harness is included with your tow package. This harness plugs into a port beneath your dash and connects to the four wires of the brake controller. If, however, you have a brake controller with a plug in place of the four loose wires, you can use the Tekonsha adapter.
This adapter requires no hardwiring. It is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller for the simplest installation possible. Because there are no wires to connect, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

Install your electric brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in harness beneath your vehicle's dash. The hitch and controller was installed on a 2002 Chevy 2500HD. It took roughly 15 min to install the Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller, plug it in and program it. As far as the B&W Turnover Ball Hitch, I cut the hole in the bed and cut the heat shield out the day before while I was waiting for the hitch to arrive. The next day my parts arrived, I laid out all the parts to make sure everything was there and then started the install. I didn't want to cut the 1"x1/2" notch out of my fender well to get the angle iron in so I spent about 15 min. trying to get it up on top the frame from underneath the truck. A waste of time. Do like the instructions say, cut the notch and slide it straight across the top of the frame. It will save time and aggravation. After getting both braces in place I ran a piece of rope down thru the hole and pulled the hitch plate up into place and tied it off. I installed all the bolts finger tight, put the side plates on and tightened everything up. It looks nice and I saved myself a $435.00 installation fee. With out a lift and without taking my rear tires off it took about 3 1/2 hrs. to install by myself. The only thing I want to say to B&W is don't place the heavy metal hitch parts on the booklet with the packets of Lithium Grease in it, they bust as the picture shows. Last but not least, thank you Sherry for all your help with my order and getting it to me quick in such short notice. I really appreciated it.
The quality of the adapter and customer service was very good. However, I must have ordered the wrong adapter as this on had an inline 4 plug and my controller had a square plug.

The adapter that you will need for your 2016 Ford 350 is part # 3034-P. Customer Service will reach out to you so that this adapter can be returned.
Got this for my 2001 Silverado 3500. You can’t ask for anything more simple and self explanatory. Good quality harness. Been in the truck for a year now with no issues at all
The Tekonsha plug-in wiring adapter fit my 99 Silverado 1500 with not any issues at the fuse block. The length of the wire harness allowed me to install the brake controller in the CD storage for easy access and use.
A customer service Representative by the name of Rob checked into my order when it did not show up on the estimated date then called me when it got here to let me know it was delivered. Great courteous service and the components worked and installed in a breeze.
Because my truck has the factory tow option, I was able to purchase this custom harness from etrailer for a very quick install. No wires to trace…. No splices…. Very simple. One end of the harness plugged in to a socket under the dash of my truck. The other end of the harness plugged into a socket on the back of the Teconsha P3. Wiring complete!!
Was delivered earlier than anticipated. Had to move one wire to make it compatible with my year truck but not a big deal. Highly recommend Etrailer.com for all your trailer needs.
This made the installation very easy, it was plug and play with this.
Perfect fit on my 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500. Works great and shipping was FAST!
Took about 10 minutes to install on my 2000 Chevy Silverado. Plug and play.
Makes installing easy and quick
I had purchased an electric brake controller to install on my 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1 ton. I am pretty tech savvy but the thought of wiring into my truck’s electrical system made me a little apprehensive. The thought of my trailer passing me on the road was very thought provoking. Then along comes the “Plug-in” adapter for the brake controller. A no-brainer. Plug into the controller, plug into truck fuse panel (in a specific marked location for the plug), and your ready to go. As I said, a no-brainer
Quality part. Just plug it in and go. No problems yet.
Replacement for another brake controller.
Easy install. The new cable got rid of excess from previous install.
Both work great and it made a much neater job. As you can see, you can't even tell where the cable comes out of the fuse box!!
Great product and it is exactly as it is described. I have a 15000lb fifth wheel and I need to be able to control it! I am positive that I bought the right product for that task. Stuyvesant, NY
Did not work. The trailer brakes only work if I use the manual application. They are not working if you just use the truck brake petal.

Uh oh, that is not good to hear. Let me get you over to our tech department for them to help you out.
It doesn't get any simpler than this! Called etrailer and told them what vehicles I had. Sara looked it up and three days later I had the parts. Took all of 10 minutes to install and then I went to pick up my new camper. Product worked just perfect. Great company!
Arrived quickly and well packaged as always. Love ordering from etrailer.com.
Have not installed yet but I'm sure it will all work great as always. Have had Tekonsha controllers on several of my and buddy's rigs, always reliable.
Seems like a quality product that worked Had no problem installing it
Great service and delivery as always! Driving a 2002 Suburban pulling a 1996 trailer, it's always a challenge to find compatible parts but never at etrailer!
Fast shipping and very easy install with the additional wiring harness. Will buy again
The Help & professionalism of Quinn F at etrailer was outstanding. He confirmed that the product was the best choice for my vehicle & purpose, his personal response & follow through impressed me (including an e-mail letting me know my parts were delivered a couple days early). I will definitely be using Quinn F at etrailerfor all my RV related needs.
Worked perfectly.
etrailer.com had the items we needed at a reasonable price. The items shipped out quickly but unfortunately, got held up in USPS shipping. I emailed customer service about the delay; they responded promptly and to our great satisfaction. I believe etrailer.com takes customer service seriously which is rare in today's time. We will definitely visit etrailer.com again for our needs and highly recommend them to anyone.
etrailer's instructions and videos are awesome.
installation was a breeze UNTIL I needed to locate the brake signal wire (cold side of brake switch) on my 1999 suburban. What a pain. the switch is not very accessible let alone there are a ton of white wires under the dash --along with an alarm.
Long story short, I found this in a GMC forum and it saved me big time:
"Under the dash, next to the emergency brake is a black convenience box. At the bottom of the box is the letters GRN, next to that is the letters NAT with a small recessed box with two male spade connectors. The spade on the right goes to the brake switch. The wire from the brake controller is terminated there."
Using the supplied probe tester I was able to verify this and finished up my installation. The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 controller works great.
