Video Transcript for Stallion 2x8 Boards Aluminum Ramp Ends Review

What's up everybody Adam here with etrailer, today we are gonna be taking a look, at the Stallion Aluminum Trailer Ramp Ends. I'm a big fan of this ramp concept, just because I load a lot of stuff into the bed of my truck or onto my trailer, and having aluminum ramps, they're just extremely bulky, ya know And they're only good for one thing, and that is to get your stuff from the ground up to wherever you're trying to get it up to, but with this, a 2 x 8 is so useful, and I have this kinda stuff laying all around my house, all the time. So, being able to just utilize it right now as a ramp, and then in the winter, I usually don't haul anything, so I can take this stuff off, and this little piece of aluminum right here, is a lot easier to store than big bulky ramps. So that's what I really like, I always have wood around, and all I have to do is drill two little holes in there, and that's not really going to affect this board at all, I can still use it for what I need to. So you're not ruining it, and this just makes a 2 x 8 even more useful, for different situations. So these are gonna have a 750lbs rating, for each, so 1500 total, and it is going to be made of aluminum, It's about 7.5" wide, and it's gonna be about 1/4 of an inch thick as well, so the hardware does come included, so you don't have to worry about measuring that to find the right hardware, so that's always awesome.

But these are just great, they're not going to rust away over time, but one thing I would add to this setup, these do have a little bit of grippies, right here, but boards get extremely slick, especially when they get wet, whether you just keep them outside, and the dew from the morning gets on it, that's enough to start to make your wheels spin. So we do have some grip tape, I would just take, just get like a 10' roll, that we have here at etrailer, and just put it down the center like this, or you can do like side stuff. Regardless, I would definitely put some sort of grip on the board, just so you're not slipping. Because when you slip, you'll start to rotate right or left, and then you'll fall off, so, it's just not gonna be good, so definitely take the precautions, and put some grip on there, but other than that, this thing is a solid product. But enough talking, lets show you guys exactly how we got these things installed.

To begin the install, all you need is your board, you wanna cut it to length. I cut mine at 6', just so it can fit in the bed of my truck, even with these on, and what you wanna do, is just sit there and line up the holes. Which I had some drilled before, but they're not really lining up. So, what you wanna do, is go grab an 11/32" drill bit, and drill these out. So, you wanna hold it up really close and tight to the board, and make sure it's nice and centered on there, and drill away.

And you do that for the other board as well. So we do want to put the bolt head on the side that we're gonna be driving on, cause it's a little bit less sticking out, and we're gonna need two 13mm sockets or a wrench, whatever you got, tighten this up. You wanna make sure you really torque this guy down, just because the closer is it to that surface, the less stress, is gonna be put on the actual ramp end itself. Once you get that tightened down, do that same exact thing for the other board, and we're almost ready to go. And that'll do it for a look at The Stallion Trailer Ramp Ends, and I'm Adam with etrailer..

Product is as advertised and does work well. The only complaint I have is that included with the product are installation instructions. It shows that the package contains ramp plates, bolts and nuts and pictured are holes for pins to secure it to the tailgate. However, there are no holes and no pins. I tried using the ramps as is without the holes and pins and fell off when one of the ramps slid over. Luckily neither I nor the item I was trying to use on the ramps were injured or damaged. I was disappointed that these items are pictured and stated that the pins are included but are not.

I needed to build a dog ramp for two 100 lb. German Shepherds. The rise of the ramp is 22", the length is 96". I purchased two sets of these ramp brackets and bolted them to four 2"x8"x8' planks. Since planks bow, swell, and warp, I will brace the four units diagonally with 1" steel perforated tubing containing 60 deck screws. The four single ramps are now adapting to the new placement and will be united into one ramp in a few days. All lumber surfaces were given a polyurethane coating. At this time no decision has been made as to whether to add a griplike layer to the topside of the ramp. We'll let the pets tell us if traction is an issue. These brackets are terrific. Thank you! Keith

Ramps received, installed on 2" x 8" x 8' boards, just what I needed and wanted. Boards used as ramps used to flip up when loading equipment in pickup bed. Or would have to work one wheel then the other over the end of the boards/ramps when unloading. Now able to smoothly load and unload. Much smoother, easier, and safer. Thanks for the quick and easy service. And thank you for the follow up.

I received my ordered ramp tips and they were exactly what I had thought they would be. The best part was I contacted etrailer Corp. after a few weeks had passed without receiving item.. I called the company and spoke to customer support. As the name implies (customer support) I was taken care of with great consideration and received a better quality product almost immediately. I will purchase all my trailer requirements from etrailer Corp.
