Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within the jack storage compartment of your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

I think the harness appeared to be well made from good materials. Unfortunately, it was never installed on the vehicle and I can't attest to it's performance.
The trailer hitch we received was bent and we could not install it as the bolt holes don't line up. Thankfully etrailer has promised to mail out a new one ASAP. I hope the new one works as it should.

Excellent product and took me no time to install hitch and wiring harness (probably about a hour to do both). The youtube videos on the installation were perfect and streamlined the process. The only negative thing, is that on the wiring harness the green wire going to passenger light was a little short, not providing a good length of harness to go out van gate. It hangs out about 1' of the very left, but most trailers have plenty of extra cord to reach the adapter. Worked perfectly, installed perfectly and would totally recommend!!!!
It seems that more and more lately I notice how badly customer service is suffering. Many companies don't consider it a top priority. etrailer.com is a HUGE exception to that. They were in contact with me every step of the way, letting me know as the order progressed through each step. They provided MUCH quicker shipping than I had expected (or paid for). The product is excellent. The hitch was very easy to install. Once you have all of your tools ready it is a 30-40 minute job if taking your time.
The wiring seemed like it was going to be more challenging, but once I began and just followed the instructions it took between 20-30 minutes.
I could not be more pleased with this transaction. Not only will I use etrailer.com for everything I can, but I will suggest them to anyone requiring a product that etrailer.com sells.

Hitch and wiring harness arrived quickly. Easy install exactly as depicted in the videos. The shipping box was pretty mangled, but no damage to the hitch.
following the instructions on video the installation was a breeze. my only problem was that although I put the ground screw where the video showed the green wire was mounted the ground wire was about 2' shorter than the 4 wire. that kept the plug too short to reach the trailer. my fix was to splice a wire to extend it to match the 4 wire and now it works great.
Product worked perfectly on our 2010 VW Routan. Really simple plug and play as advertized. The video instructions were great for running wires etc. Unlike most Routan parts, this one has different plug ends from the Grand Caravan and has to be specific to this vehicle.
The hitch was easy to install and great quality. I got the wiring harness, too, but that was not so good. Didn't seem to be the right thing - wasn't long enough.
Service was great, shipping was quick, and the harness installed in less than an hour with easy to follow directions. I would have given it a rating of 5 if the wiring was longer. The plug needs another 2' of wiring to reach the hitch even with the wiring fairly taut. I will have to buy an extension... Not really a big deal but probably should be included for the price.
This hitch fits really well, and is very unobtrusive. Easy to install, I just drove my back wheels up on some ramps and had all the access I needed. Best of all was the VERY fast free shipping. Promised I'd have it by Friday and I had it Thursday afternoon, which took all the pressure off trying to install it just one day before my trip. Thank you!

Proper fit and clear installation instr uctions
Decent instructions, although an online video like for the hitch would be even more helpful. This part took longer than installing the hitch, but only a couple of hours. All wires are hidden and it works great!
I ordered it, then it arrived. What more can you say about a wiring harness. I will add that this website has some really helpful install tutorial videos...really saves time when installing hitches and wiring harnesses.
For 2012 , the green wire needs to be 24 inches longer. had to splice in order to get 4 wire connector to reach bumper.

Instructions were detailed and fairly simple to install. wish the cable with the trailer plug were a little longs but otherwise very satisfied with the product.

One of the easiest DYI projects ever. Took about 45 minutes and I took my time. The instructions said the ground wire was on the paasenger side, but it was on the driver's side. I watched the video, and followed that as a guide
