The wiring harness went about as well as can be expected. I was able to use the existing grounding stud the original harness is connected to. Also, I found it far more convenient to route the trailer portion of the harness to the passenger side and drape it into the well for the "stow and go" seats.

by:
2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

Product was received quickly and besides the installation instruction sheet the video that I watched for install was most helpful. Had the wiring installed within 45 minutes and tested and everything worked great from the start. Will definitely consisted buying from Etrailer again.

Product is still working great and stores away hidden very easy. Works ever time I hook up to the utility or boat trailer without failure. Thanks ETrailer.

by:

The harness is fairly easy to install. The passenger side alittle more difficult, but I used the tip of a fishing pole to guide the wires out. Follow the video instructions. Also big shout out to etrailer.com customer service. This is the second harness. The first one must have had a defect and was causing a dash fuse to pop when the brake was pressed. Etrailer.com shipped out another one and it works perfectly.

by:

This was the simplest installation of any wiring project I've undertaken. Instructions were simple and straight forward and it works great. The best part is the wife had no idea I even installed it until I had her check the trailer lights. Thank you for a great product.

by:

The hitch was a bit tough to install without some trimming and slotting of a couple of holes. However at the end it worked. I was able to accomplish my mission. The harness was actually a very easy and comprehensive installation and it worked like a charm. The customer service was excellent and items where shipped on time. UPS however was not so on top of their game. I do recommend e trailer and will definitely purchase again. Thank you

by:

The wiring harness worked great! Easy to install with easy-to-follow instructions.

Great!

by:

Haven't used it yet but it is an awesome product. Installed this and a hitch on my 07 Town & Country alone in an hour. Installation videos made it a breeze. Thanks Etrailer.com! Next to tackle a tranny coolet.

by:

I was only able to use my tent/trailer twice last year but I loved it. It was exactly what I had hoped it would be.

by:

Excellent fit . It took me about a hour to install on a 2005 Chrysler town and country stow-n-go van .I installed by myself using 2 Jacks.
Quality work it fit perfectly.
And by the way I'm 71 years all , it took me longer to get up to move side to side then to install lol .

by:

The wire harness works perfectly, no problem what so ever after a year install it.

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

I needed to find a hitch for a 2005 Dodge Caravan. I found this website and typed in the information needed (make, model, year) and up popped a detailed listing of the types of hitches I could use, with the prices and the amount of time needed to install the hitch. I ordered the hitch and received an email when the order was processed, plus an email with a tracking number as well. The unit arrived very quickly with no damage or scratches. The next day I installed the hitch according to the instructions included with the unit. I did this installation alone and it took less than 2 hours. The unit fit as advertised and looks very nice. I could not be more pleased with the hitch. I also bought the wiring harness for my vehicle and the drawbar kit as well. All items worked as they should. The instructions for the wiring harness were excellent as well. This was a one stop shop very simple a great experience.

The products are great and working just fine!!!

Delivered on time, exactly what I needed. Total install time was 20 minutes, took longer to glue the carpet back in my cargo van.

The wiring Harness was very easy to ins tall!

2005 Chrysler Town and Country

This product was installed easily. The video was GOOD and expedited installation. I did find an appropriate location to drill a hole in the "seat well" on my 2005 Town and country. The electrical connection is directly by the receiver and on the outside of the vehicle now. A little caulk resealed the hole. NICE!

Keith A.

9/20/2014

this product has preformed perfectly for the past year. I drilled a hole in the seat well to put the wiring through. NO problems!

by:

This is so easy compared to 20 years ago when you had to cut, soldier, tape, repeat because you read the meter wrong. I use a 7 pin plug so I cut the end off and finagled the wires under the car and mounted the plug on outside of van. If I did not do that it would have taken me more time to take the tail lights off than install the wiring. Super easy. AND BTW, it drives me crazy when I see these 4 pin plugs just hanging there like a cat toy. etrailer sells the 4 pin plug mounting brackets to make the job look more professional. Just to let y'all know.

Dodge Grand Caravan

The wiring harness for our Dodge Caravan was a PERFECT fit. Installation was simple and required no alteration of the vehicle. Easy to follow instructions made the job a snap. The trailer connector is plenty long and stores inside the tire jack compartment. Took me less than an hour start to finish with one beer break and I wasn't in a rush.

by:

The trailer hitch wiring harness came with good instructions, and etrailer.com's website provided links to helpful videos. The installation was very easy, and the finished product works well. The tips for hiding the connector in the jack compartment were much appreciated.

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

I got a 2005 Grand Caravan SXT with the trailer tow package but it had no trailer wiring. I was thinking of going to Uhaul to install wiring but I wondered if I can do it myself [to save money]. I found etrailer's Install Video on Youtube, and then bought this kit. Before buying the kit I checked the DODGE OEM kit and wiring in the service manual and the etrailer kit installed the same - both tapped the wires going to the rear lights. But the etrailer kit was better than the oem kit - longer wires.

Installation was like in the etrailer video, but I had trouble with the ground wire on the right light. At first I thought I didn't need it but without ground the lights / signals don't work, as verifed by an LED tester kit [don't forget to buy this also]. So I had to buy a $3.80 punch to tap a hole for the ground screw. Once grounded the trailer wiring worked fine. I'm so glad I did this myself!

Perfect fit on the part, excellent installation videos, and I now have a working trailer lights on my utility trailer when towing with my Dodge minivan.
I went with this part because it plugs into the taillight wiring connectors of my van. No cutting wires or messing with terminals. Very happy with the result.

by:

I purchased the wiring harness one year ago and am totally happy with the ease of installation and its performance. The instruction video was an added plus although probably not needed given the clear and complete written instructions. It is a rare occurrence this can be said about ANY products at this point in time. Tekonsha got it right on every aspect! Thank you for making my life a whole lot easier. Kind regards.

2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Recently bought the wiring harness for hookup between vehicle and trailer for a 2006 Grand Caravan... The kit 118300 worked perfectly. Took me about a hour and 1/2 from start to finish due to a error on my part. As a point of information ...a cut and 1 end bent into a small J- hook metal coat hanger works very well for helping pull wires thru.

by:
2001 Chevrolet Suburban

Great service and shipping and handling. The only thing that didn’t work for me was the wiring harness but that was my fault. So if your vehicle has led taillights make sure you get the t wiring harness for led taillights .

2007 Chrysler Town and Country

Purchased wiring harness to outfit our T&C that came with a hitch, but no lighting cable. Took a little time and effort, but installed without a hitch (pun intended). Would not have been easy without installation videos and excellent instructions.

Thanks!

  • Towing Capacities and Trailer Hitch/Wiring Recommendations for a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country
There are a couple of weights to look at when determining how much trailer your 2005 Chrysler Town and Country can tow. Additionally, Chrysler has a frontal area maximum that the trailer can have. They say that the front of the trailer cannot exceed 40 square feet. So if the trailer is 8 x 5 feet at the front or 10 x 4 feet, or any combination that adds up...
