The plastic covers on your 2012 Mazda 5 will just pop out and you can remove them with your hands. In the event one should be difficult, you can use a narrow tool such as a flat screwdriver to pop it off but you will want to be very careful not to scratch or dent the vehicle if you must use a tool.
