Roof Rack Recommendation for a 2009 Mazda 5 to Carry a Roof Mounted Cargo Box

Will the part #TH6358B work with a Mazda 5 2009 vehicle if it has just a bare top at the moment or will i need other roof racks to assist it?

In order to use a roof mounted cargo box like the Thule Force XT, # TH6358B, you need to have crossbars that run side to side installed on the roof of your 2009 Mazda 5. First, you need to add Thule Podium Roof Mounted Foot Pack, # TH460R. Next, you will need Thule WingBars, # TH711200 for silver or # TH711220 for black. Last, you will need Thule Fit Kit for Podium-Style Foot Pack, # THKIT3080.

With this rack installed you will be able to use the cargo box on your Mazda 5. I have included a link to the installation details for the box below. I also recommend checking the owners manual for the Mazda to determine the weight carrying capacity of the roof. You will need to go by the lowest rated component in the system. If the roof is rated lower than the rack then you have to go by that rating.
