I understand your winter weather concerns; I attended college at SUNY Oswego (situated on the shore of Lake Ontario) way back when and I can STILL remember how well wind-driven "lake effect" snow can find its way into the sleeves and collar of even the best winter coat. I get it.
The light strip I suggest for your GMC Canyon is Pilot's Bully Fire Strip LED Light # BLS-1103 because it has a standard 4-pole flat type connector that will avoid the need to use any adapters. It simply plugs... view full answer...
The Curt # C13203 Class III hitch does indeed use the existing bolts which hold the factory crossmember in place. The torque specs can change over time which is why we don't publish them, but they are listed in step # 5 of the instructions, which I've linked for you. I've also linked to an install video that you might find helpful.
To install a 7-way/4 pole trailer connector, use part # HM40975-11998, I've also linked a video to that install. view full answer...

The purpose of the RoadMaster Transmitter for Even Brake Systems # RM-9430 is to send signals to the monitor in the cab so you can know if everything is working properly or not, but it also communicates with the system as you apply the brakes for proper functionality.
Without the transmitter the Even Brake # RM-9400 would sense an error and would not work correctly.
Just so you're aware, you're also going to need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751472 in conjunction with the... view full answer...
In order to install a brake controller like the Tekonsha BRAKE-EVN Trailer Brake Controller part # TK63VR on a 2016 GMC Canyon you will need to splice into wires as there is no plug under the dash for you to use. That said, the wires are already run for you so this will be super easy to do with just some butt connectors, part # DW05744-5. In order to do this you will need the Brake Control Plug-In Harness part # 20127. view full answer...
If you are talking about closing the gap between the brackets that attached to the side rails on your 2005 GMC Canyon then no, you will not want to bring those together. You will want the 4 upright bars on the T-Rac Pro2 Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Over-the-Cab Extension # TH37001XT-EX to be positioned in the 4 corners of your truck bed.
I have attached a picture that a customer submitted to demonstrate this. I pointed out where the ends of those brackets sit for you to use as a reference.... view full answer...
This is a great question! I reached out to Truxedo/Truck Hero to confirm this, but there is a clamp that goes inside the bed rails that the T Slot Rails for Truck Hero Elevate Rack System # TH65FR will attach with. Unfortunately there is not an online installation guide available for these, but there are instructions included with these rails that show, in detail, how these clamps are installed. With your wires not matching when connecting the Hopkins Multi-Tow 7-Way Blade and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM11141144 on your 2022 GMC Canyon you have a couple options. The first option is to call your local GMC dealer service department with your VIN to have them verify the wiring installed from the factory to ensure you connect everything to the correct wiring. The other option is to use a Test Light # PTW2993 to verify every function to ensure they match what the wire should power.... view full answer...
There is adhesive tape backing on the WeatherTech Side Window Air Deflectors # WT82766 that is to be removed BEFORE you install them. The installation process is not complicated and the linked instructions outline the required steps. In a nutshell, you'll lower the windows about halfway, peel off the tape backing and position the front then rear ends of the deflectors. You'll then tuck the rest of the deflector in working from front to back.
This kit is a confirmed fit on your 2016 GMC... view full answer...

The triangle on the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR remote controller will fill in as you start to brake which is an indication of how much braking force the Patriot is applying to the brake pedal on your 2021 GMC Canyon. According to Air Lift if you are only raising the vehicle off the ground for a short amount of time the Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59533 should be reduced to 5psi to reduce tension on the air springs. If the vehicle will be raised by the frame for a long period of time jacks or straps should be used on the axle to prevent damage to the air springs. My initial thought is that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13176 requires the removal of factory crossmember or hitch which is then replaced by this trailer hitch receiver and that the shop either doesn't know that or doesn't want to deal with it.
I checked with Curt who confirmed that this fits as well as linked the installation video we shot of this same trailer hitch on a 2019 Chevy Colorado and the written instructions you can reference.

According to my research, the 2016 Colorado/Canyon with the factory 7-way won't have a plug under the dash for installing a brake controller, but there will be bare tow package wires that you can wire the brake controller directly to. The tow package wiring is located behind the left kick panel, as you suspected. The wiring pigtail that came with your brake controller would wire... view full answer...
It's hard to give an exact amount of fluid you'd have to replace when installing the Derale transmission cooler part # D13503. Reason being there's typically some loss from having the transmission line disconnected and that makes it hard to account for the exact amount lost. I'd grab a quart or so and then once the install is complete check the level like the owners manual of the vehicle recommends and add as much as needed. view full answer...
