Installing the T-Rac Pro2 Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Extension # TH37001XT-EX on a 2005 GMC Canyon

Question:

I have a 5 foot bed on a 2005 Canyon. The overall length is 148inch So to mount on a 5 foot bed, would I just move the legs closest to the cab back towards the rear end of the bed, closing the gap? If I do, will I loose weight capacity with the legs move farther back from the very front of the front of the rack. T-Rac Pro2 over the cab Ladder Rack, 1000lbs capacity

If you are talking about closing the gap between the brackets that attached to the side rails on your 2005 GMC Canyon then no, you will not want to bring those together. You will want the 4 upright bars on the T-Rac Pro2 Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Over-the-Cab Extension # TH37001XT-EX to be positioned in the 4 corners of your truck bed.

I have attached a picture that a customer submitted to demonstrate this. I pointed out where the ends of those brackets sit for you to use as a reference. Installing it this way will give you the 1,000 lbs weight capacity.
