What Does Triangle on Blue Ox Patriot Remote Controller Mean

Question:

I have a Patriot Braking System on a 2021 GMC Canyon. On the display in the motorhome, there is a triangle. When I start out, the two sides of the triangle meet up at the top of the triangle. A little while later, while driving, I hear a beep, and the two lines at the top the triangle do not meet up there is a small gap at the top of the triangle. What does that mean?

The triangle on the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR remote controller will fill in as you start to brake which is an indication of how much braking force the Patriot is applying to the brake pedal on your 2021 GMC Canyon. When I reached out to my contact at Blue Ox they said they've never heard of a gap on that triangle and the only time the controller should be beeping is if there is an error - in which case you would see an error message on the display screen.

The gap may be the graphic starting to fill in the triangle with the braking power indication but if you're getting a beep I definitely recommend checking for an error message as soon as possible. The different error codes can be found in the instructions but if you're still having issues let me know and I can help you troubleshoot further.

I have the same thing with my brake monitor. I never see an error message but the top lines of the triangle will go blank and not meet in the corner and two beeps will sound. A minute later, the triangle lines meet again. What is this and should I be concerned?

@Karen Does the screen color change to yellow or red?

No.

@JonG No. no screen change. No error message. Just two beeps and the top of triangle disappears for a minute or two.

@No. I did some more checking and I found someone say that when their Patriot 3 beeps it means there is a loss of communication. If this is happening fairly often then I recommend trying to reposition the monitor a little closer to the actual unit to see if it gets a better connection.
