We have everything that you need to install your Hopkins Agility Brake Controller, # HM47294, on your 1998 Chevrolet truck. The installation process is going to depend on how your truck is currently equipped.
If your truck has no trailer wiring at all, then you will need a few different components. First, you will need 4-way flat trailer connector. For this, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Harness, # C55315. This harness will plug into the factory connector located on the driver side... view full answer...
You will need a couple of different items, including the brake controller, to install it in your 1998 Chevy K3500. First, if the truck does not already have a 4-Way trailer connector (or a 7-Way) you will need to install one using # 118315.
Then you would plug the 4-Way into the adapter included with the 4 and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. This kit includes a 7-Way and all of the wiring and accessories needed to install the brake controller. I have included some links that show and explain... view full answer...
The Derale cooler part # D13503 is a great choice for your 1997 Chevy K1500. You would only need one of the part # D13018 fitting adapter as it comes with two sides. One to use on the radiator to get the line to the transmission cooler and then the other one to attach back to the disconnected transmission cooler line that was removed.
If oil filter clearance is already pretty tight I wouldn't recommend an oil cooler as they take up a bit of space that it sounds like you don't have. Is... view full answer...
You will need to start with a 4-way on your 1991 Chevy 1500. For that you would want the # 18252.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake... view full answer...
Based on my research, there is a bundle of wires above your spare tire. In this bundle the yellow wire is the left turn and brakes, dark green wire is the right turn and brakes, brown wire is for the running/taillights, and white is the ground. Often if the loom is cut back, two more wires will be found. The light blue wire provides a lead for a camper shell brake light (third center mount brake light only). The other, a light green wire, is for the reverse lights.I recommend using a circuit... view full answer...

Per the manufacturer, Excel, the Excel RV Tankless On-Demand Water Heater - Gas - Electric Ignition - Ventless - 38,000 Btu # EX93FR has to be installed upright with the vent facing upwards. Other than that the only other installation restriction is to not install it in a bathroom or bedroom so you can install it wherever you have the space for it. view full answer...
To attach the Rightline Gear SUV Tailgate Awning - 8' Long x 6' Wide # RG44FR to the rear window of your truck bed camper shell the window would need to have struts to hold it open. You would then be able to attach the straps around the window to tighten the awning to the window. You can see this being done at the 3:30 mark of the attached video. view full answer...
This is a very simple installation. One wire would ground to the trailer frame, the other attaches to the brake output circuit. Since brake magnets have no polarity, it does not matter which wire goes where. view full answer...
The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-CHD for your 1978 Chevy Scottsdale C20 (and the other RAS kits) do have minimum and maximum settings. The minimum we're looking at no less than 25% of the 1mm white spacer and for maximum we're looking at no more than 40% of the 2mm spacer. So I wouldn't go any larger than that. view full answer...
The over-under conversion kit, # K71-384-00, is a bolt on kit, welding is not required for installation but the manufacturer instructions state that tacking the spring seat is strongly recommended. This kit is designed for 2-3/8 inch diameter axles. We also have a kit for 3 inch diameter axles, # K71-385-00.

On the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 41938, the 8 bolts used to attach the hitch each go into the frame rails on the truck. When I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite he gave a much more clear description of what you will need for this hitch to mount to your truck. Basically, the hitch is 19 inches long. If you measure from the end of the frame rails at the rear of the truck towards the front, you will need at least 19 inches with nothing in the way in order for the hitch to fit.

When installing a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 on your 1998 Chevy K1500 you want the stop light switch to light up when you press the brake pedal on your pickup. Typically the orange wire isn't used, but since wire colors can vary you'll want to verify this by testing it like what you're currently doing. view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Mighty Cord and he stated that the Adapter 4 Pole to 6 Pole, # A10-6034VP, will have power at the 12 volt pin all the time if it is connected directly to the vehicle battery. This will not put a drain on the battery unless something is connected to the harness drawing power. view full answer...
The Westin Fey Diamondstep Rear Bumper with Custom Installation Kit # 21000-92230 fits your 1983 C/K Series pickup so long as it is not a flareside/stepside bed. We do not have an installation video for this particular item but I reviewed the written instructions, which are linked for you, and they do indeed note only two brackets are required/included. The instructions for your truck appear on the top of page 4.
My contact at Westin confirmed this bumper mounts using only the two supplied... view full answer...
You should not have to disconnect the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller, # C24VV, when backing up. Brake controllers are designed to send power to the trailer brakes when you step on the brake pedal. When backing up, you typically step on the brake pedal several times, so many people simply disconnect the trailer connector from the tow vehicle before backing up.
The Curt TriFlex brake controller is a proportional brake controller that uses an internal inertia sensor to sense the braking intensity... view full answer...
You can use any access point to the brake light circuit on your truck as the activation signal for a trailer brake controller. Usually the brake pedal's brake light switch (the cold side of it) is the preferred way to get an electrical brake signal for triggering the controller. Sometimes on newer vehicles a 3rd brake light's wiring can be easier to find.
Often the wire at the brake switch you need is white, but it can be yellow on some model year. In the linked video showing a 1997 it... view full answer...
I will be happy to help you out. Curt trailer hitch # 13028 for your 1985 Chevy C-10 will likely fit without modifying the spare tire hanger/location provided that the tire size is a stock size and not an aftermarket larger size. If it is a larger than stock size then it is possible that modifications would need to be made or the spare would need to be carried in the bed of the truck. Thus far no one has complained about the spare tire being an issue.
If you plan on doing some towing you... view full answer...
The Bright Way Breakaway Kit # 3802346 cannot be charged through a 12V circuit because that would result in overcharging the battery which is why it has its own battery. view full answer...
The brake controller needs to be connected to a constant power source so that the settings on the brake controller are not lost. When the brake controller is unplugged, the brake controller is reset and needs to be setup again. Having constant power to the brake controller is the correct way to have the brake controller wired on your 1995 Chevrolet Silverado and on any vehicle.
You will not have to worry about the brake controller draining your battery as it draws milliamps of power. If... view full answer...
