On the trailer's 5-way connector the yellow wire with brown stripe is most likely a running light circuit but you want to be sure. There is sometimes a yellow/brown wire which is ran down the left side of the trailer for tail lights and a green/brown wire which is ran down the right side of the trailer for tail lights. When a 4 flat connector on a trailer has 7 wires it usually means it either has extra grounds or extra tail light wires. Most likely if the extra wires are white then it is ground, if they are brown then they are most likely tail light wires. Normally, the 5-wire flat connector will accept a 4-wire flat connector and work properly. The extra circuit on the 5-wire connector is normally wired to power a reverse lockout or electric trailer brakes not the brake lights. I contacted the tech at Tekonsha and he confirmed that on the 2017 Dodge Durango the white wire with the orange stripe should be the wire you splice the 18-gauge blue wire (not to be confused with the 12-gauge blue wire) into while installing part # TK22113. I recommend testing the orange and white wire for function to be sure before you splice into it.

It sounds like you have a 5-way flat on your trailer for the lighting functions; running lights, turning and brake and the fifth pin for the reverse lock out on a hydraulic brake coupler. The white wire on the light is the ground function and can be grounded to the trailer frame or spliced into the trailer connector ground wire.
