Hey Brent, so I recommend going with Roadmaster for the majority of your setup. Both brands are great and will ultimately get the job done, but Roadmaster has become a very trusted brand in the industry and has a very good track record which is why I'd recommend them over Blue Ox.

A weight distribution hitch is not required for towing any trailer but they do make it safer. I personally have never liked the round bar style hitches like Husky makes and always recommend units like the Fastway e2 # FA92-00-0800 since it uses a straight bar. These do not hang down a low as the round bar systems so they will not drag going over speed bumps or when you hit pot holes.

Hey Larry, I'm not too sure how much the weight fluctuates between model years for the Ford F-150, but it looks like a 2024 F-150 weighs between 6,220 to 7,350 lbs, meaning something like the Roadmaster Nighthawk # RM-676 or # RM-677 would work fine.

We haven't had the chance to install the Roadmaster tow bar lighting kit part # RM-15267 or the part # DM23MV on a 2001 Ford Ranger Don but the best tip I can give would be to find a place on the front bumper. The Falcon 5250 has direct-connect attachment points that hook onto a crossbar, if you remove the crossbar adapter then you'll be able to go with a direct-connect baseplate like the # RM77ZR (models with tow hooks) or # RM76RR (models without tow hooks).

Okay Bob, so I did a bit of digging around and apparently this is a known issue that Blue Ox is aware of. The 41" distance between the mounting points is too wide and non-standard which is why your tow bars are being stretched too far.
Unfortunately there is no solution from Blue Ox which is a bit disappointing but with that said you'd be better off getting rid of those base plates and use something else instead. That much stress on your tow bar/base plates is going to only end up bad... view full answer...

Hello David. Based on what I can see online the Barricade Alloy Bumper has welded D-rings. Provided this bumper is tow rated, I suggest using the Roadmaster D-ring adapters # RM-035 for 3/4" thick D-Rings or # RM-035-1 for 1" and use a Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar, # RM-522. I am going to recommend using the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0600 for towing your 2,300lb travel trailer. This is a reliable system that has stood the test of time and works with trailers up to 6,000lbs with 250-600lbs of tongue weight. The Andersen makes some interesting claims with their system being revolutionary and eliminating sway but I have personally replaced their systems with ones like the Fastway above because they experienced sway. You definitely want to upgrade the spring bars on your SwayPro # BXW1000. This system is designed for a tongue weight of 750-1,000 lbs so you're almost outside of that range without loading anything. If this is a travel trailer you're going to have batteries and propane added on which will have you sitting right at the max.

Weight distribution hitches, like your Equal-i-zer # EQ37140ET, won't get you exactly back to your factory ride height, but if you're within one inch of that height then you're good to go. If I'm reading this correctly you were at 41-3/8" unloaded and 41-7/16" loaded up with the spring bars activated, which is only 1/16" off. Ram's are typically harder to get right because of the rear coil spring suspension so for you to be that close you're honestly better set up than most installations... view full answer...

Hey Donziman, so we have three different options for base plate kits that fit your 2024 Ford Maverick. We have the Roadmaster # RM97RR, the Demco # DM77YV, and the Blue Ox # BLU88XR. Hey Orlando, it's interesting that the dealer recommended against a weight distribution system because that would actually be your best solution to level your truck when towing. A suspension enhancement solution for the truck like an air bag setup would provide additional support to level the truck but that's as far as the benefits really go.
