There are only hitches with 2 inch receivers like the Curt # C34ER currently available for the 2021 Kia Sorrento currently and because it's considered a mid-size SUV I don't expect them to design a 1-1/4" receiver. According to my contacts at Reese, the # 37042 hitch was discontinued and became obsolete in late 2009. Reese could not tell me if it would fit a 2011 Kia Sorento. I managed to locate their fit list for that hitch, and the vehicles mentioned are all full and mid sized pickups and minivans.

What you are experiencing when trying to install The Curt Hitch # C13513 onto your 2008 Kia Sorento is that the weld nuts are packed with corrosion and/or road grime.
