We can help you with the items needed to add electric drum brakes to your motorcycle trailer and to install a trailer brake controller in your 2011 Kia Sorento.
Adding electric drum brakes to a trailer requires a few items, all of which are detailed in the linked article that covers the whole process of adding brakes to a trailer. You want to choose brakes based on the axle weight rating which can usually be found on a sticker on the axle itself. Most of the 6 x 10 Stealth trailers use a 3500-lb axle so a brake kit such as # AKEBRK-35-SA would be appropriate. These fit 10 x 2-1/4-inch hub/drums.
To find compatible hub/drums to fit your spindles you will need to find the bearing part numbers from the inner and outer bearings on your current hubs. You also want to match your wheel bolt pattern and the weight rating. Our hub/drums for 3500-lb axles are linked for you. These use inner bearing L68149 and outer bearing L44649, such as part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K
For a trailer brake controller in the Sorento I recommend the reliable and easy-to-use Prodigy P2 # 90885. To install this in the car you will use our install kit # ETBC7 which includes all of the wiring and connectors needed plus the 7-way socket for the car. If the car does not already have 4-pole wiring then you will also need a harness; refer to the linked page to see the wiring kits for the various versions of the Sorento. Select yours at the top of the page. For instance, for the SX V6 without factory tow package use 4-pole kit # C59236.
Do note that the towing capacity for the vehicle varies depending on its version. The 2.4L engine Sorento can tow up to 1650-lbs; same for the 3.5L unless the trailer has brakes, in which case the 3.5L can tow up to 3500-lbs. These ratings are affected by passengers and other cargo in the car. This data was found on page 5-64 of the online owner's manual.
