The Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter # TK24FR will give you the wiring needed to remove a factory 4-way connector and install a 7-way harness. You will need a Mounting Bracket # 18138 to attach the 7-way to the back of your 2016 Kia Sorento.
If you are unsure if you have the factory 4-way you can follow the wiring. The factory connection is located behind the bumper on the drivers side. An aftermarket harness will connect to the tail lights and tee into the factory wiring. For this you will need the Universal Brake Controller Installation Kit # ETBC7. I have linked videos for the installation of both these harnesses below to see what is involved with the installation, as well as help you check for the factory connector.
Both Harness include the wiring for a brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it has a clear easy to read LCD screen and it is customizable. Once you have this proportional controller set for your trailer it will automatically adjust the braking force applied on the trailer based on how much braking inertia it senses on your Sorento.
