Connection a Brake Controller to the Brake Switch Wire on a 2006 Kia Sedona
Question:
I am having trouble getting the wires off of the brake switch. Do you have any suggestions on how to remove the wires, That is the only part in the video that I dont see. I am installing Draw-tite 5100.

You do not remove the wires off of the brake switch to install a brake controller. You will use a quick splice connector, included with the # ETBC7 kit. A quick splice work by placing the signal wire (in this case the proper brake switch wire) in one track inside the quick splice and then the wire you are splicing into (in this case the red brake controller wire) in the other track. Then you crimp it down with pliers to complete the connection.
In the video on the 2008 Sedona our installer used a separate piece of wire in the brake switch for added length to make it easier to complete the installation. But you would not pull the brake switch wire out of the switch to make the connection.
Take a look at the video I have linked on a 2003 Sedona that shows the use of the quick splice connector. This is the method you will want to follow. Go to about the 11:35 mark for that part of the video.
Please note that the color of the wire could be different on your 2006 Kia Sedona so testing the wires ahead of time with the included circuit tester that comes with # ETBC7 is important. It should be a white wire on your van so start by testing the white brake switch wire.
