  • Will TireMinder A1AS TPMS for RVs and Trailers Interfere with Bluetooth Backup Cameras
  • The TireMinder A1AS TPMS for RVs and Trailers part # TM79FR uses Bluetooth so it does operate on a 2.4Ghz frequency as well. Therefore, there is a potential for interference. I spoke to TireMinder about this and they said to keep the monitors a few feet apart and there should be no issue but we do also carry systems which operate on a different frequency, the TireMinder i10 TPMS for RVs and Trailers part # TM56FR for example operates on a 433MHz frequency.

  • What Does Lowering Exhaust For Installing Hitch on Volkswagen Jetta Mean
  • You may indeed ask about installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11474 on your Volkswagen Jetta, and lowering exhaust means simply loosening some bolts so part of the exhaust hangs down. This will give you the needed space to slide the hitch into position to complete the install of the # C11474. I have added a link below to a video install which shows how simple it is to lower the exhaust; that portion starts at about the 3:40 mark.

  • The bonded 4-wire, # 16-4B-1 has white, brown, yellow, and green wires. Typically, white is ground, brown is running lights, yellow is left turn and brake, and green is right turn and brake. With the wiring you have as listed, the turn left would connect to the yellow wire, turn right would connect to the green wire, tail marker would connect to the brown wire, and white would be ground. I have included a link to our wiring FAQ that also has some helpful wiring diagrams. On a 4-Way connector...

  • Purpose of Red Wire on Curt 59146 Wiring Harness
  • Although we do not carry the Curt 59146 I can tell you that the red wire connects to the brake light wire on your 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. This is a 3 to 2 wire converter so it will combine the brake and turn signals to be compatible with the trailer wiring system. If you do not connect the red wire the stop signal will not be sent to the trailer lights.

  • Does the EcoHitch Hitch Receiver Require a Sports Strap on a 2014 VW Sedan?
  • I would be happy to help answer your questions. The sports strap isn't required on 2" hitch receivers so some hitch manufacturer's offer it as an option. The Curt Support Strap # 18050 is required on Curt 1 1/4" hitch receivers. The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7311 does not need the sports strap. The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7311 has a 300 lbs tongue weight and the Curt Class l Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C11474 has a 200 lbs tongue weight....

  • Wiring Harness and Brake Controller for 2001 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
  • For wiring your 2001 Jetta, I would recommend the Upgraded Circuit Protected Taillight Converter Hardwire Kit, part # 119178KIT. The converter would tap into the existing taillight wiring on the vehicle. The easiest spot to access the wiring would be behind the taillight assemblies. Starting behind the taillight assembly on the drivers side, you would want to ground the white wire to the vehicle chassis. Typically, there is a factory installed grounding point nearby, you can use that. You...

  • Is Drilling Required for Mounting the # 24594 Class I Sportframe Trailer Hitch on a Volkswagen Jetta
  • The Draw-Tite Class I Sportframe Trailer Hitch, item # 24594, does not bolt up to existing holes in the Jetta frame. Four, 1/2 inch, holes need to be drilled into the inboard side of each frame rail. If you would like to provide me with the year make and model of your Jetta I would be glad to see if there is a bolt on installation available for your vehicle. From the hitch you selected, there are no hitches available, for the model years this hitch fits, that do not require drilling for...

  • How To Wire Hopkins Engager Trailer Breakaway Kit To Trailer
  • Unfortunately you cannot wire the battery charger to battery of the Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit with Built-In Battery Charger # 20400 as it will not keep the battery charged. • Trailer Frame Mounting Space Required for Installing Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System ASR5200S04
  • The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR5200S04 that you referenced will require a trailer frame area of at least 14-5/16" inches long and about 3" tall for proper mounting. I have attached a dimensional diagram below with this and other measurements labeled for the setup (just note that the spindle measurement isn't correct since this model features a 4" drop). When mounting to the frame it's extremely important to use all 3 bolt holes provided, so this full length is needed....

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta
  • We actually carry a trailer wiring harness for your 2006 Jetta that is a very easy installation. Take a look at the Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118667. This is what is called a T-One harness because it plugs in line with the vehicle tail light wiring so you will not have to splice into the vehicle wiring. I have included a link to the installation details for you. You will be able to perform this installation at home based on the easy T-one style connectors.

  • Can the Ramps on the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 be Removed
  • The ramps on the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 are not meant to be removed after the initial installation. I suppose you could remove them once the vehicle is loaded but that would be a little challenging and you would wear out your hardware quickly if you are constantly installing/removing them. Since Roadmaster doesn't say to remove them I would just leave them on.

  • Can A 2006 Volkswagen Jetta Manual 6-Speed Be Flat Towed?
  • Yes, your 2006 Volkswagen Jetta manual transmission can be flat towed. I went ahead and verified with your owner's manual, and all of the "do not's" had to do with the automatic transmission models. In light of this news, you are going to need a base plate kit, tow bars, a lighting harness, a braking system, and safety cables. You did mention the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX3823, and good news it'll work great! For a set of tow bars, the Roadmster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow...

  • Can Under Body Panel be Trimmed and Reinstalled on 2016 VW Jetta when Installing Draw-Tite Hitch
  • I do have a solution for you but there isn't a video or specific instructions for trimming the under body panel on your 2016 Volkswagen Jetta for Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24926. What you can do is use the Curt instructions and video (linked for reference) as a guide to trim the panel. The Curt and Draw-Tite hitches have similar designs so while the trimming will be a little different the video and instructions are a good starting point.
