Sorry to hear about your troubles. I have a couple of options for you but we will address the fuse issue first. You need the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass - 13" - 20-Amp Mini-Fuse item # RM76511. This will allow you to replace your Equinox's mini-fuse and lets you prep for towing by simply flipping a switch. This will remove the hassle of pulling a fuse out to flat-tow.

It is a fit for 2005 to 2017 models so it is likely there is either grime in the weldnuts or powder coat overspray that is in the threads that needs to be cleaned up. It is highly uncommon the Diodes to go bad, but we should be able to easily test this to determine the cause of the issue. The best thing to do will be to get a wire probe like part # PTW2993 and test the wires going in to, and out of the diode. If we have power going in, but not coming out, then the Diode is the issue. The owners manual states pulling the #32 fuse for the Discrete Logic Ignition Switch as you stated but GM put out a technical service bulletin that stated for the 4-cylinder models you should leave that DLIS fuse in and pull the ABS fuse because this new procedure eliminates wobble that occurs when towing the 4 cylinder models from 2010-2017. All of the install bolts that thread into an existing weldnut on your 2007 Chevy Equinox are the same size, M12. There are other size bolts that come with the # 36408 that has been confirmed as a fit for your vehicle. They are 1/2-13 and they do not attach to weldnuts, instead they attach to nuts that come with the hitch.
