Troubleshooting Tekonsha T-One Wiring Harness on 2018 Chevy Equinox
Question:
Was going to use my trailer yesterday, lights did not work. 2018 equinox with out towing package. Im sure purchased from you last early last summer, only place I could find it. I started testing at the car working towards the trailer. Test light power at the battery, power on black box side of wire splice. I can clamp on the ground to test the output plug. sometimes I can get a flash with the turnlights, some times flashes a couple time then nothing, sometimes nothing. No tail lights. My opinion there is something wrong with black box. Help, is there a warranty?

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118750 for your 2018 Chevy Equinox has a 1 year manufacturer warranty. Because it seems to work part of the time, it sounds like there is a connection issue. I recommend starting with the ground wire with the ring terminal. Make sure the area it is connected to is free of debris and has a bare metal to metal connection.
Next, check each of the connectors to ensure a solid fit without any bent pins. If all that checks out, then check your power wire with your circuit tester to make sure you are getting consistent uninterrupted power. It could be a simple fix like a fuse going bad, or it may be a short in the wire, or a converter issue as you stated. You will need to troubleshoot all of the possibilities.
