When we installed the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24914 onto a 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback similar to your Mazda 3 we found that the receiver sat just shy of the rear of the bumper cover. So it will not hang past your bumper where you might hit your leg on it or extend the length of your Mazda. The bottom of the receiver tube and chain mounts are roughly 9-1/2" from the ground.

Coil spring helpers don't add to the height of your vehicle, because they just go inside the spring, supporting it when you have a load in the vehicle. When we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11377 on a similar 2017 Mazda 3 we found that the distance from the ground to the top of the inside edge on the receiver tube is 11-1/2". Since the trailer hitch has a 1-1/4" receiver tube I can estimate that the lowest point on the trailer hitch is going to be around 10" off the ground. We measure rise and drop a little differently than Curt, hence the discrepancies with the label on their # C45028. Curt tends to round and estimate their measurements a little bit, but we go from the top of the ball platform to the top of the shank to get the 5-3/8" rise.
