Ground Clearance of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2017 Mazda 3
Question:
With part #C11377, how much ground clearance is lost on a 2016 Mazda 3 Sedan when measured from the lowest hanging point of the rear bumper. Or if its easier to answer, what is the ground clearance with the hitch installed when measured from the bottom on the receiver. Thanks in advance for your help.

When we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11377 on a similar 2017 Mazda 3 we found that the distance from the ground to the top of the inside edge on the receiver tube is 11-1/2". Since the trailer hitch has a 1-1/4" receiver tube I can estimate that the lowest point on the trailer hitch is going to be around 10" off the ground. Please keep in mind that this distance can very well vary vehicle to vehicle as the tire size and amount of cargo will all play a factor but this is a good reference point.
