Randy: Hey, guys. It's Randy here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at a wheel chock from Buyer's. This happens to be their serrated steel version, extremely heavy duty, and you see it's also going to include a handle there so we can kind of position it a little bit easier.Now, our chock does have a dual side to it or a dual angle, so we can have our handle pointed outside where it's easily accessible, but use that either behind or in front of the tire. Regardless of the slope, we'll be able to get that in the correct position. You can see the serrations that run through here on that more of like an expanded steel type is what it is are going to have good little teeth on there.
Helps to bite into the rubber on the tire, keep it from slipping. Then, we're also going to have that same right there on the bottom.Now, one things I've noticed, it does have that high visibility orange powder coat finish, but after just kind of using it around the shop here, I'm starting to see where it's chipping off a little bit. What that means to me is basically it's not the most thick or most durable finish that's on there, but if you've seen how these things get treated, they just get thrown around and tossed here, tossed there. It's really not all that surprising.Now, overall the wheel chock from edge to edge is going to be 10 inches. Width wise we're looking at nine inches and from the surface to the top, it's going to be about six inches.
That's going to make it ideally suited for small trailers all the way up to semis.Now, when we take a minute to compare this to other wheel chocks, I like the size of it. It seems to be right in that middle range. Still pretty easy to handle with the included handle on there, but not so small we'll worry about our trailer kind of hopping up and over it. I like the steel because it is going to be durable.I also like the rubber, the thick, heavy rubber chocks. I like the way those work too.
I think steel, we toss this around quite a bit. We'll start getting some dents in the corners here and there. Where it's not something we'll have to worry about with the rubber. Like the handle for easy positioning, but also there are other rubber chocks out there that have the handle.All in all, it's going to serve the purpose. It's going to be very rugged.
It's going to be very durable and should serve you pretty well. And, that's going to complete our look at the Buyer's steel serrated wheel chock.
