Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for Review of Taskmaster Trailer Tires and Wheels - Tire with Wheel - TA66RR

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Taskmaster 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire in a Load Range C, mounted on this 12 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the four on four inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel is in some ways ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers and campers. The wheel they use a steel wheel, has the modular design. When we say modular design, that's when it that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. This wheel is very sturdy and corrosion-resistant.

They do use a three step finishing process which will include a phosphate zinc bath, then an eco primer and then a nice silver powder coat on the front of the wheel. And then on the back of the wheel, you can see it is lightly e-coated to reduce friction, provide rust resistance with less flaking. They do use the uncoated stud holds which are beveled to offer better clamp force retention. And the tire that's mounted on this is a bias ply tire. It is constructed with strong nylon cords, so it is great for off-road and agricultural use.

This assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and does exceed your federal motor vehicle safety standards. A few dimensions on the wheel. The diameter of the wheel, which is measured inside the inside right here, is 12 inch diameter. The width on just the wheel by itself is four inches. We mentioned the bolt pattern is a four on four inch bolt pattern, and if you want measure bolt pattern when it's an even number of lugs, like in this case four, it's pretty easy because the lug holes are right across from each other.

So all you have to do is pick one of the holes, measure from the center of that hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. So on this wheel it'll measure four inches. So that means it's a four lug, four inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20. The weight capacity on just the wheel is 1,520 pounds and the pilot hole diameter, which is this large hole here in the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your trailer diameter.

That opening is 2.84 inches. Now, this wheel does not come with the center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have that same diameter of 2.84 inches. Your center cap will go through this hole when you install it. The tire size, which is stamped on the tire, you can see is 5.30-12. The section width on this tire is gonna be 5.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to very top is 21.5 inches. This tire is a Load Range C, which means it's a six ply rated tire, has a maximum load capacity of 1050 pounds at 80 psi. And then the last thing I do wanna mention is most all the new trailer tires are coming through with a speed rating, and they stamp that on the sidewall by a letter designation. So if you go right after the size we went over, you'll see 82 for the load index and then the letter M, and then then right after it in parenthesis, you'll see it says 81 miles per hour. So this tire is a speed rating M. But that should do it for the review on the Taskmaster 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire in the Load Range C on the 12 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the four on four inch bolt pattern..

Exactly what I needed. This is a 12" tire that can travel interstate speeds. I drove my trailer with these two tires on the day I got them for 550 miles from SC to OH. No issues whatsoever, and I was going 70-80 mph the whole time.

by:

I bought this tire for a spare on my trailer. About nine months into it I noticed terrible dry rot on the tires. I called etrailer about a replacement and they made me go to manufacturer who an a really annoying return policy. I ended up getting a replacement tire from them but had to get it re-mounted at a local shop. I will be buying tires from my local shops from now on to avoid all this hassle.

by:

Nice product! Great seller, prompt service and shipping. Will definitely be doing business again with etrailer. Bought tire & Wheel as a spare for my utility trailer.

by:

The tires arrived super fast. They are exactly as described and look fantastic on the trailer.I will always be a customer of etrailer...

by:

No problems other than my bearing buddies making a mess of the white paint. I run max PSI, which is 80PSI, IIRC. They're on a boat trailer and the whole setup is supposedly 1,000 lbs. GVWR 2,000. I've done about 2,200-3,000 miles and they still look new. Doing anywhere from 60mph to 75mph for 20 to 90 minutes.

by:

I shopped around a lot for my new tires and decided on Etrailer Tires. They are the best Tires and wheels out there for my application and priced very reasonable. Also they gave me free shipping and I had the tires on my Camper in 3 days. They look Great. All in all I would definitely recommend ETrailer. Nice looking re and blue pin stripes was a surprise to me.

by:

This tire and rim was a perfect match, thanks! I have bought many tires from e trailer and never had any issues. Would highly recommend!

by:

Anna is amazing! My original order was cancelled a week after I placed it ( NOT ETRAILER’s fault) . I called them and I had two new trailer tires and wheels (TA36RR) in my hands less than 4 days later! Best price best service !

by:

I was very impressed with the how my order was handled from etrailer.com. I had an issue with some tires being on backorder, but Erika helped me with finding another option that would work for me. I had the tires and wheels delivered a couple days later. Installed them with no issues and put over 500 miles on them that day. I highly recommend etrailer.com.

by:

The tire with the rim was fine; however, the single tire which I ordered was flattened and *extremely difficult to mount-as it wasn't able to be beaded/set into the rim because it had been flattened-this wasn't from the shipping process-as the carton wasn't broken or opened-it had been shipped out in this condition. **It was only when the tire installer used starting fluid on three (3l separate times-that the tire was able to be
mounted to the rim.

by:

I bought these tires for my motorcycle trailer. Etrailer got them to me in plenty of time for my trip. They look great and I like the fact that they are rated for higher speed. The lights on the trailer I bought from etrailer about a year ago. I think they look great and they have worked without any issues.

by:

I was impressed at the selection of different tires and wheels. Prices were better than I? found locally. I ordered the tires/wheels at 8:30 in the evening and at about the same time the next day they were delivered to my door. How do they do that? Totally satisfied!

by:

Ok quality for the price , wheel finish isn't the best got wheels with few paint chips, but overall good set of wheels

by:

I choice these 12” tire/wheel combo to replace the 8” tire/wheel that came with the
trailer frame kit. I wanted an upgraded tire for safe highway speed. Also wanted a silver rim to match the rims of my car. I ordered three, so I’ll have a spare. So far, I’ve traveled 1600 miles with the new set (highway 65-70), and am very pleased. Shipping was fast and packaged well.

by:

I ordered 3 Taskmaster 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Mod Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range C (Item # TTWAS12B4WMHP) on a Saturday. To my surprise they shipped them right away. The packaging was perfect and the wheels look strong and well made. This little kit trailer (cargo box is 60"x40"x24") has once been in a 3000 mile trip around the West, and the 8" wheels where almost 20 years old so I decided to get fresh tires and ordered the 12" wheels. I'll probably have to give the fenders a little more clearance but that's OK. I'm very happy with the product and service. Thank you guys!

by:

Great looking item for the price. Received on schedule and undamaged. Can't speak to durability, but all is good with fit and quality appearance.

by:

Just got my two new wheels and put them on my utility trailer. These are the four hole wheels with "C" rated tires and they look real nice too. No more nasty looking H.F. "B" rated tires with white painted wheels, and these are safe to use at highway speeds. Etrailer got them to me quickly and their prices was great.

by:

Ordered 3 trailer tires to replace the worn ones and spare on my motorcycle trailer. Ordering was quick and painless and with standard shipping received my order in 3 business days.

One of the tires was defective and wouldn’t hold air. etrailer was great in getting a return label and sending out a new tire right away. Their customer service and handling of issue was great.

I would highly recommend them for your towing and trailer needs. Great Pricing, quick shipping, and excellent customer service. What more can you ask for in a company!

by:

Bought these to replace old tires and rims. Fast delivery, aired up and ready to be installed. In 10 minutes my trailer was back on the road and looking better than ever!

by:

The quality of the products was only surpasses by the speed with which I received then. The tires and rims seem to be top quality. Of course, I will know more after a few miles on them.

I will be hauling my boat and jet skis on the interstate and needed better equipment as well as spares for out on the road. I certainly felt that these were affordable and will make very cheap insurance for not leaving my boat on the side of the road.

I would certainly recommend etrailer.com to anyone.

by:

The tires were exactly what I was hoping for.The pleasant surprise was that the tires came already inflated.I would order these tires again.

by:

I was so impressed with these tires and rims! Not only were the rims galvanized but also painted and very good quality! Made my trailer look and drive so much better! They have a great website and very fast shipping!

  • Can The Taskmaster 5.30R12 Tire TT53012C Be Ordered On A Wheel W/ 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern?
I would be happy to help! We do not offer the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Tires # TT53012C you were looking at mounted on a wheel that uses the 4 on 4" bolt pattern so to get this setup you would need to purchase the tire and a wheel like the # AM20140 separately and have a local tire shop mount them for you. The wheel and tire combinations we offer are mounted by the manufacturer and we do not have the equipment to mix and match tires and wheels. If you would rather just purchase a tire and wheel...

For a 4 lug wheel and tire with a higher speed rating you'd need to go to the larger size of 5.30-12 like the # TA66RR which is rated for up to 81 mph. There's nothing for an 8 inch wheel that has the higher speed rating.

Currently all the wheel and tire combinations we have with the 5.30-12, and a 4 lug bolt pattern are going to have a 2.84" pilot hole center. This should not be an issue for mounting as these are all lug centric wheels which will center on your hub using tapered Lug Nuts # CE11051 and not the hole center.
