Durable Acrylic Enamel Finish
This wheel has a durable acrylic enamel finish on the front. The finish is applied after the wheel goes through an environmentally safe zinc phosphate pre-treatment and is coated with an e-coat primer layer. Compared to powder coat finishes, this finish resists getting chipped from flying road debris or scraped from hitting a curb for a longer period of time. These acrylic enamel wheels performed for more than 1,000 hours in salt spray tests.
The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.
The standard tread on these tires has solid, continuous ribs with very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. These tires are designed for use on trailers, so they don't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Rambler radials have double polyester cords and double steel belts. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today we're gonna take a look at this Taskmaster Rambler ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range D, and it's mounted on this 15-inch white Vesper modular steel trailer wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly's ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. We'll start with the wheel. The wheel is a steel wheel, and it has the modular design. When we say modular design, that's the one that has these large holes that go all the way around the wheel.
It's very sturdy and corrosion-resistant. Now, they use a white acrylic enamel finish on the wheel to help resist chipping and other damage better than your powder coat finishes. Actually, the finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pretreatment, and then it covers an eco primer layer, gives you excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating more than 1,000 hours. The lug nut holes right here on the wheel, these are beveled stud holes that help keep your wheel securely in place on the trailer hub. Eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts.
A few dimensions on this wheel. The diameter, which will always be measured straight across inside to inside is 15 inches. The width on just the wheel, five inches wide, and this wheel does have a bolt pattern of 5 on 4 1/2 inches. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel like this, that's an odd number of lugs, in this case five, all you have to do is pick any one of these holes, let's say this one, and you'll measure across to either this hole or this hole. But when you measure it from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to, on this, it'll measure 4 /12 inches.
So it's a five lug, 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. This does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20, and the weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,160 pounds. Now, if you notice, this wheel does not have a center cap in it. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separate on our website. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter of this pilot hole on the wheel.
The diameter on this is 3.19 inches. 'Cause when you install your center cap, it will go through this hole. The tire is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords, for a nice long life. It's great for highway use, and they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay around the tire to help prevent tread separation. This tire is an ST tire, which stands for Special Trailer tire. Has sturdy sidewalls so they can handle the heavy loads, and it is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, right here, you'll see ST for Special Trailer, 205/75R15. The R means that it is a radial tire. We turn it to get the section width. Section width on this is gonna be eight inches. The overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 27.2 inches, and this tire is a load range D, which means it's an eight ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity of 2,150 pounds at 65 PSI. And I do also put a speed rating on this tire, and it is stamped on the sidewall with a letter designation. And where that is at is usually right after the tire size we just went over. You'll see two numbers for the load index and then a letter M. Speed rating M will mean this has an 81 mile per hour speed rating. Now, this does come with a two-year platinum plus warranty, which includes emergency tire change service and other benefits. And this assembly does meet the DOT Department of Transportation specification and it will exceed your federal motor vehicle safety standards. But that should do it for the review on this Taskmaster Rambler ST205/75R15 radial trailer tire in a load range D, mounted on this 15 inch white Vesper modular steel trailer wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
