Today, we're going to take a look at the Peterson trailer backup light with the stainless steel housing and the clear lens. This is an incandescent trailer light that'll provide a backup light function for trailers or utility trucks. It does use an incandescent bulb, can be to replace. It's a bulb type 1156. Has this nice clear lens over the incandescent bulb, and the lens is held in place by this metal retainer ring on the outer edge, here. That's how you'll access to replace the bulb.

If you put a screwdriver in there, pop that retainer ring out, the lens'll come out, and you can access replacing the bulb.It's a durable stainless steel housing that resists rust and corrosion. It is a flush-mount design, has the built-in mounting flange. The hardware to install this is not included. Does require a four and a half inch diameter hole for installation, and this light is compatible with 12 volt DC systems. It is a single-wire design, and when you hook up this wire to your backup light, it'll ground through the mounting hardware.

This light is DOT, Department of Transportation, compliant, and it is made in the USA.A few dimensions on this. The overall width of it, including the flange, is right at five and a half inches. The depth of it is going to be right at one and five-eighths inches, and the light face itself, the lens portion, is four inches. The distance between these mounting holes .. There's three mounting holes, the bottom one is sort of an elongated one.

But the center-to-center on all of them is going to be four and a quarter inches. Bulb type, we mentioned, is 1156. The power draw on this at 12.8 volts is 2.1 amps.The last thing I'm going to do is hook this up to some 12 volt power, just so we can see how bright it is. What we're going to do is go ahead and take the power wire, and we'll go ahead and hook that up to our single wire, and then we'll take our ground wire and let's see if we can get a ground. I'll hook it to the stainless steel housing and see if that'll give us a ground.

I'll go ahead and turn on our power. Yeah. This is a good enough ground. There's your backup light. We'll go ahead turn off the overhead lights. You can see it has a very bright backup light to it. You can go ahead and turn back on the overhead lights. Disconnect our wires.That should do it for the review on the Peterson trailer backup light with the stainless steel housing and the clear lens.
