Upgrading To a Shock Absorbing Suspension Equalizer With A 42" Wheelbase Tandem Axle Trailer

Question:

My tandom axel travel trailer has a spacing of 42.5inch measured from the center of the front tire to the rear tire. Is this the correct way to measure? If so, do you have a product for me?

It is a good way to measure for a replacement equalizer, but I always recommend verifying the equalizer length as different springs will allow for different length equalizers.

As you have a 42-1/2" spacing you most likely have the 14-3/4" equalizer. This is the measurement from the center of front bolt eyelet to center of rear bolt eyelet on your equalizer.

I recommend the MORryde 14-3/4" Shock Absorbing Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers w/ 42" Wheelbase # MR34AR. This CRE3000 equalizer is rated for axles up to 8,000lbs each and will allow for 3" of up and down travel to compensate for different terrain.

The MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR46ZR will allow you to exchange your current bolts for a wet bolt system. The benefits of the wet bolts are now you have grease between the bolts and suspension components. This allows for the suspension components to move more freely and are less likely to bind up. This kit uses shackle straps with a 2-1/4" bolt hole center length. If your trailer has longer shackle straps the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR76ZR has 3-1/8" shackle straps.
