Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

Oh no! Thank you for letting us know. This can happen from time to time when the hitches are shipped to us or while being delivered to you. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. In the meantime we do have a FAQ that can help with installing the hitch right. Please see it below.

Great. No concerns after a year of use. Use mostly for a bike rack.

This hitch is more than adequate for my needs. It was fairly easy to install- once I read through the instructions.I had to become familiar with my truck's spare tire tools. Another "learning curve"!

by:

I installed this hitch on my new colorado pick up. It fit perfectly and was easy to install.
Looks great and of course hauls my trailer well.

by:

Good looking & well built receiver. Though I did have to grind off a bit of it so the bumber would go back to original location for bolts to line up.

by:
2019 Chevrolet Colorado

Pretty straight forward installing. Bolts right in. Will need a hand to hold it in place to install. A little heavier than the one that was under the tuck for bumper ball. Looks great and fits great !! Also got the OEM style wiring kit. That as well fits as it should and fairly easy to install.

It was easy to install after watching your you tube video. I use it for my bike rack but I got a class3 incase I do decide to tow something.

by:

Easy to install specially after watching the installation videos for the hitch and wire harness. Looks amd works great!

by:

Great Trailer Hitch Receiver. Simple and easy to install the unit. Followed instructions and video for hassle free install.

Box was damaged, could you send detailed dimensions so I can tell if it’s bent.

Thanks

We dont really have any detailed dimensions available at the moment for this item. I do recommend making sure it is at a 90 degree angle. I am also getting these dimensions added to our site for future reference.

I am very happy with the hitch
The instructions
were helpful
The install was was ok , would be better if you can
have the truck on a lift but it went pretty OK without the lift
Anyway overall very satisfied
Thx …. Peace

by:

The product was good. The fit was horrible. It took my mechanic 6 hours to adjust to make fit. Yes i ordered the right one. The flanges had to be beat out and then reshaped to fit.It may have been "custom fit" but it wasn't custom fit to my truck. Ordered through etrailer through customer service rep named Peyton, even spoke to her on the pholne to make sure it was correct.

by:

Had local mechanic put it on for me and it took about 15 minutes. Solid and works well with my bike rack. Thanks!

by:
2022 Chevrolet Colorado

The welds on the top side of the brackets were not ground down enough and caused the side holes to be too low for the holes in the truck frame. I had to file down the hole to make room to get the bolts in.

by:

Excellent quality and fairly easy to install. Instructions would do well to mention that if you don’t have a lift rack you’ll need two extra people to install.

Product was destroyed when the vehicle caught fire and exploded. Up until that time it worked well.

by:

It fit perfectly. This is a strong hitch that has done a great job over the past year.

by:

I installed this in my driveway lying on back with help. We went by the installation process in the online video.

It took teamwork to break the factory bolts loose. We got tow bar in place by trial and error. The hard part is getting the bumper mount lined up with the bar and the frame in order to get the bolts in finger tight.

The specs for the bolts had torque rated at 160 ft-lbs. I couldn't reach that but got it close. Installation was complete and I cut the tape off of the receiver. Inside were instructions giving torque as 100 ft-lbs. I wouldn't do less than 120.

AS far as the product, first impressions are great! Bought this as a gift for my dad and his '19 Chevy Colorado. I purchase this and the wiring harness. Awaiting until Christmas for an install. My only complaint was the shipping. My wife and I have had too many issues with UPS in the pass and the delivery of these items were no different. Although the items showed up early, I can't get over UPS lying stating a delivery attempt was made. I have Ring video of the time they are stating that says otherwise. Then once the items finally arrived the next day, the box containing the harness was fine but the hitch looks as if it had been dragged around and dropped. You can see from the pictures that the wrapping isn't sufficient to protect it from drops. So, as I said, I would look into shipping with someone else.

by:
2022 GMC Canyon

Great service on follow up on problem with damage delivery service for reorder to correct damage that was caused by delivery service

by:

Perfect fit. Just as described.

by:

The hitch didn't have a bracket to bolt the support from the spare tire carrier cross member to the hitch. Other than that it bolted to the frame perfectly and fits fine

by:
2016 Chevrolet Colorado

The hitch lined up perfectly with the frame. I did have to open the hanging brackets with a 2 pound hammer in order for them to slide onto the frame. I suppose they bent a little during shipping. The videos were excellent source material.

by:

Excellent quality and value. Shipping was next day, thanks Michelle V. Perfect fitment. Hardest part of the installation was removal of large bolts. Cheater bar needed.

by:

Delivery was fast (and correct)! The installation was really easy and the hitch is very solid. Great product!
I use my vehicle to pull a 2 place snowmobile trailer and there haven't been any issues/problems.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2020 Chevy Colorado With the Most Ground Clearance
The trailer hitch receiver with the most ground clearance for your 2020 Chevy Colorado is the the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98909 along with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13176. When we test fit these hitches on a 2020 Chevy Colorado we found they measured 18-3/4 inches from the top of the receiver to the ground (about 16-1/2 inches from the bottom of the receiver to the ground). Their counterparts from Draw-Tite were close, with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76004...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2022 Chevy Colorado
I recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98909 for your 2022 Chevy Colorado because it has a matte black finish that blends in better with your truck and will do a better job at hiding any scratches that might happen from flying road debris. If you are planning on doing some towing then you also need wiring and a ball mount to round out your towing setup. For wiring I recommend the Hopkins # HM11141144 which splices into the existing wiring and seats in the bumper,...

  • Parts Needed to Tow a 5.5K Trailer with a 2018 Chevy Colorado
I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2018 Chevy Colorado and it looks like as long as you have the 3.6L V6 (not the ZR2) then you definitely can safely tow up to a 7K trailer. With that being said, there are a few things to note; like how much weight you have in the pickup, if the 5,500 lbs for the trailer is GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) or if that's the dry weight, and that you'll need both a brake controller and a weight distribution system. I'm assuming you already...

There is only one difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13176 and etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98909 that fit your 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, which is the finish. The Curt trailer hitch has a glossy black finish while the etrailer hitch has a matte black finish; other than that everything is equal, such as their 6,000 lb towing/900 lb tongue weight capacities, as well as the installation. • Trailer Hitch Suggestion for 2022 Chevy Colorado LT
We do indeed offer hitch options for the 2022 Chevy Colorado. Of the available options, I'd recommend the US made etrailer brand Class III hitch, part # e98909. The hitch has a 8000 lb towing/800 lb tongue weight capacity, which actually exceeds the towing capacity of the truck itself, so there's no doubt that the hitch is tough. • Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2019 GMC Canyon
For your 2019 GMC Canyon I recommend the etrailer class 3 hitch # e98909. This is a 2" receiver rated for towing 8,000 lbs and 800 lbs of tongue weight. A 1969 Shasta Starflyte should be around 2,500 lbs so this will be plenty strong for this purpose. You can also use the Hopkins 7-way harness # HM11141144 for your trailer wiring.
