This will enable attachment of a bike rack on the back end of my vehicle vs. roof rack; Much easier for me at this stage of my life.
I just finished installing this hitch on to my 2022 Forester, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. The installation was just like the video that is posted to your site, and the wire feeding tools made it a breeze!
I did not have to modify the plastic underbody panel on my 2022. It fit back under the car, and I added a self tapping screw to hold it in place. Thanks for making it so easy!

My hitch receiver is great! We mostly carry bikes on the back of our car with it, but I have occasionally used it to pull a small flatbed trailer, hauling mulch, dirt, etc.
When the box arrived I had doubts about the hitch because the box was damaged in several places and had been taped numerous places by UPS. Upon opening the box, the hitch survived the UPS journey. There were some scratches on the hitch but they won't show once the hitch is installed. It looked like the hitch was put in a box that was too small for the hitch. I followed the directions in the video and installation went well. One caveat, make sure the nuts will thread onto the bolts before you fish the bolts into place. I had two bolts that had bunged up threads on the end. It took a little extra work to get the nuts started without pushing the bolts up into the frame and seeing them lost forever. I used a floor jack to lift the hitch into position, much easier than trying to hold the hitch up and starting a nut to support the weight. Installation took longer than I thought it would, mainly because my dog was supervising and had to constantly perform quality control inspections on every step of the installation. I am very satisfied with the installation and think the hitch looks great installed on the car.
Just installed on our 2024 Subaru Forester. Took several hours but I am 64 and do not have a lift like they do in the video. Also the etrailer instal 2023 Video is much better than the 2024.
I can't give this rating more than 2 stars. Simply because of the fact that when this item was delivered the entire Hitch was hanging outside of the shipping box and parts(bolts and nuts) literally taped to the hitch. I don't know if the shipping box was not adequate enough or what but it's completely un acceptable! Very disappointed.
Great deal for a quality product! Subaru wants $[XX] plus labor for a hitch and I can't imagine it's that much better than this for under $[XX]. I unbolted the muffler and disconnected the rear hanger rather than dropping the exhaust, plenty of room even without jacking up the vehicle. Step drill made quick work of enlarging the hole, hook tool made fishing the wire a breeze and floor jack with a zip tie made it a one man job. Took me a little over an hour with no unexpected surprises.
This is another fine product from etrailer. So easy to install. On the passenger side underneath, one of the 10mm bolt holes was covered up with the hitch. It would have been nice if a snall hole was drilled into the spot where the 10mm screw holds the plastic panel in place. It is most likely ok, without this bolt, but would have been nice to put it back in. I would give 4 and 1/2 stars and five stars if the hole was there to put the aft 10mm bolt back in.
Excellent product! As described and fit perfectly. All hardware is included. It took me about an hour to install with assistance from my wife. I’m a repeat customer due to the excellent customer service/support. They have videos on [online] to help guide you in the installation process. Thank you etrailer once again from a loyal customer.
First, the quality of the hitch is outstanding. The steel, the welds, and the powder coating is beautiful. Second, the fact that it was delivered in only two days is a real bonus. I had ordered an identical hitch on Amazon, waited a week, and then canceled the order when it was never even shipped after one week. Then I turned to etrailer, ordered, and had it in two days!

I purchased a new vehicle and had this new e-trailer hitch installed so I could continue to use my deer hauler that I’ve been using for a few years.
I was very disappointed when I went to attach the deer hauler.
I started to slide it into position but the hitch is designed that its sits to far under the SUV and the hauler hits the back of the vehicle before the holes line up making it impossible to attach the trailer hitch pin and clip when the hauler is in the upright/travel position.
Everything fit as it should. Installation was straight forward. Nice solid receiver hitch
I put this hitch on my wife’s 2021 Subaru forester. Well built hitch and all the necessary parts were provided. The wires used to pull the bolts through the frame made the installation very easy. Removing the heat shield was very simple. I watched the available videos which made the job easy to complete. Had the hitch installed in less than two hours from start to finish.

After watching the install video I decided to buy the hitch from etrailer.I don't have a lift so jacking the car up was the hardest part. Hats off to the manufacturer because it fits perfectly with no modifications. I'm 63 and I put it on myself in a couple hours
after 1 year the paint and finish still look good. even with the two chains connected during towing the finish looks good. no rust showing up. I live in New England lots of snow and rain. works great.
Shipping was very fast. The hitch took about 2.5 hours to install. Very straightforward. The installation video was excellent. Make sure you have goggles and a grinder bit on hand.

Very happy with this trailer hitch. Had to remove the muffler to install on my Subaru Forester but other wise it was easy.
Trailer hitch arrived in poor condition. It was sticking out of the shipping box in three or four places. It was dirty and missing the protective heavy paper wrap around the body of the hitch. I believe that it had been returned. In fairness to etrailer, as soon as they were made aware of these issues a replacement was shipped. The second hitch arrived without any of these problems. I have bought several trailer hitches from etrailer before and never had a problem. I just wish they would have thought twice before shipping me a damaged product.
i love the powdercoat finish install was easy except for the access hole to fit the steel plates and the bolts had to be bored out to about 1 and an eighth inch. Also it was easier just to unbold the mufler and let it swing out of the way when i only unhooked the farthest most rear hanger as seen in the photos. that was way easier than unhooking multiple exhaust hangers
The instructions are very clear and the installation went smoothly. It’s a high quality product.

I am sad to say the trailer hitch has not gotten much use. The bike carrier was a hand-me-down and would not seat securely, making transport very unstable. It will take a newer bike carrier and I will then be able to report back. There have been family issues preventing me from prioritizing a new bike carrier this past year.
