There are quite a few quality trailer hitch receiver options that would work perfectly for towing a small trailer with your 2021 Subaru Forester being the Curt # C13409, Draw-Tite # 76271, EcoHitch # 306-X7391, and the etrailer # e83ZR.
All of these hitches share the same 525lb tongue weight and 3,500lb trailer weight rating making them a great option for towing a small trailer, but between them I have two recommendations based on how much you are looking to spend.
If you are alright spending a bit more money I recommend the EcoHitch # 306-X7391 due to it being the only trailer hitch receiver with these rating that has a hidden crosstube meaning once installed on the receiver itself will be visible as you can see in the included picture. With that said due to EcoHitch only using premium recycled metal to help lower our carbon footprint it is at a higher price point than the other hitches.
If you do not mind having a visible crosstube, would rather not spend as much on a receiver, or prefer a hitch that is easier to install then I recommend the etrailer # e83ZR due to its matte black powder coat finish that will best blend in to the black trim on your vehicle.
To complete your towing setup you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # 118467, and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
