Very hard they need to put in bold letters difficulty rating 7 out of 10 being highest I have installed over 45 in my lifetime you have to move exhaust you have to wiggle l pipe you have to put back on first ratchet only you will not get thread even?
It took 2 hours and 20 minutes? The only reason I gave it average rating is because it fits under bumber just where you can still get to it at night in dark.

I recently sold my all wheel drive and needed trailer capability on my personal car, a Mazda 3 sedan. I have had this trailer since 1994 and use it for moving many things from yard waste, building materials, furniture, and my motorcycle. The hitch, drawbar, and harness wiring are of excellent quality. The installation was straight forward with many videos on the internet providing help. The only challenge requires patience threading the bolt wire thread. All successful, looks great on the auto, and is extremely sturdy. Highly recommend.

2011 Mazda3

Product fits perfect on 2011 Mazda 3 Sedan. One person installation is a little challenging but can be done. Installing the bolts using the fishing wire was a breeze. If installing without help, put a nut on the closest bolts to the bumper enough that they won't fall off if being hit when lifting the hitch up. Next get some items to prop up the hitch up (in middle and both sides) after positioning over the underpanel trim extension. Start with exhaust side. Remove prop and loosely attach back two bolts. Now take off the front nut and loosely attach front bolt. Repeat with other side, torque all bolts and you're done. Clearance on the bumper side is about 1/4", no issues with exhaust hitting bumper on normal roads.

Hitch still strong, no issues.

by:

Install was easy., The only thing I would recommend is put the further back bolts in the frame before you do the front ones

The install of the hitch went really quick,Would definitely recommend to people to lift it to the car

I haven't opened the box yet... I am so excited. Thank you for all your help. Kelly

The curt trailer hitch has been a great product. I use it for a bike rack. It looks good and has been very reliable. I had difficulty trying to install it on a Mazda 3 so had a shop do it. I would purchase again through etrailer. The delivery was prompt and arrived as described.

Excellent. The hitch is used on a daily basis to support a bike rack. It has been very dependable and handy. Your company had a detailed explanation of the rack pre-purchase. We are satisfied with the product and customer service from etrailer.

by:

Excellent so far. Installation was ALOT easier than I was expecting. Delivery was still fast despite a delay. Solid product. Will update after actual use.

Volvo Cross Country

Works great. The hitch has held up wonderfully this past year. I keep a bike rack in it pretty much 24/7 and have had zero issues hauling by mountain bikes around. I also used this to tow a trailer cross country and similarly had zero issues. Would recommend.

by:

This hitch was pretty quick and easy to install and has been perfect for utilizing a hitch-mounted bike rack on our car. I definitely plan to use similar hitches with any future car purchases, simply due to how satisfied I have been with this hitch.

Subaru Impreza

eTrailer has terrific and quick service. Hitch was super easy to install, just a few bolts and you're ready to go. I've installed one on a Subaru Impreza and Mazda 3 and have been very satisfied using bike hitch racks on them.

This is my third e Trailer receiver hitch that I have purchased and installed.
Your web site is very user friendly, your products have all arrived promptly with easy to follow instructions and all three fit my vehicles properly and were easy to install.

We have used our hitch often and it’s great! I appreciate the follow up and the great customer service. Your company was very thorough helping me choose the hitch that was right for my car. Thank you and I wish you continued success.

As I 59 year old woman, I was able to install this hitch along with my son-in-laws help. It was easy and works great!

by:

Excellent!! I had the hitch installed in less than an hour. The on-line video was very helpful. It made the installation instructions very clear. The wire spring tool made the installation very easy. The hitch is barely noticable. I can't wait to start using it.

by:

Nikki was awesome! Helped me make sure I had the right hitch for my car. Followed up with tracking info and it was delivered 3 days sooner than promised. Will definitely recommend to others. I manage a bike shop so there will be many referrals.

Easy to intall. Only complaint is that it rubs against the exhaust causing it to clang every time I go over every pothole laden road in New England. Simple, temporary solution was to pull the pipe away from it

by:

Easy to install, just takes some patients fishing the bolts through the frame if you haven't done it before. Works great for my bike rack.

by:

Fit well. Went together without a,.... hitch. Got about 200miles since install. Everything working properly.

by:

Great product, great service. I lost one of the bolts in my cars frame and they mailed me a replacement at no cost.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2010 Mazda 3
There are specific fits for a 2010 Mazda 3 for the hatchback vs. the sedan. If you have a sedan, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11393. If you have a hatchback, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24843. If you will be using this hitch for light towing, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118420 if you DO NOT have LED lights,...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for 2010 Mazda 3 Carrying Carbon Frame Bike
For a carbon frame bike a hitch bike rack that holds the bike by just the tires is the only safe option. Trunk racks all touch the frame which is something you need to avoid with carbon frame bikes. So for a hitch you'd need the Draw Tite # 24843 if you have a hatchback or the Curt # C11393 if you have a sedan. For a bike rack I really like the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 1 Bike # KU64FR. • Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2010 Mazda 3
Depending on the style of your 2010 Mazda 3 we have exactly what you would need for a hitch and wiring. If you have a hatch back you would want the Draw Tite hitch part # 24843 and if you have a sedan you would want the Curt # C11393. If you have the LED taillights you would want the # 119178KIT that is a protected module that draws power from the positive post of your vehicle battery to power the trailer's taillights. The provisions of the Curt Class I # C11393 hitch warranty requires the use of a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 for non-trailer loads like a cargo carrier or bike rack.
