I did not need to pull the exhaust hangers, the hitch slid right into place, the mounting holes lined up perfectly. When I ordered, the anticipated shipping time was 7 days, I received it in 3. Another smooth experience with the etrailer team!
Part fit as expected. Followed the etrailer install videos (among others) and was an easy job.
I did not have to remove the exhaust clips to slide this unit in place. I did have to ask my mechanic to use a torque gun to loosen one of the rusted in bolts.
Otherwise easy install. No rust on the unit after a year.

The 87409 hitch was installed on a 2004 Lexus LX 470. The hitch fit perfectly, however, a couple of suggestions: first, lower the spare tire out of the way, giving room to work. Second, it was not necessary to disconnect the rubber mount/muffler bracket, the hitch fit over the top without problem. The biggest issue it the lack of instructions, or even acknowledgement that the trailer light outlet bracket must be modified and relocated. Before the hitch is lifted in place, the bracket must be removed, then the outlet separated from the bracket and placed on the top side of the hitch as the hitch is lifted into place. If that's not done, there's not room to feed the socket over the hitch later. The existing bracket can be cut or bent to fit and one or two holes drilled to refasten the bracket into the OEM holes, however I had to add a spacer of 3/4" to 1" between the vehicle and the bracket to lower the bracket, otherwise the door to the outlet won't open.
Simply SUPERB. very easy to install, no need to even jack up the vehicle, or have any assistance - all done solo in no time at all. This Hitch has everything you could possibly need (other than the tools of course!) but has a brilliant wire assembly aid to install the bolts into the 'hidden' member.
I love the finished look of this hitch, minimal visual intrusion outside the vehicle when the receiver is removed. All round, an excellent product at exceptional value.
Normally, vendors want reviews ASAP. Why? Because surveys show customers are typically happy with FAST DELIVERY, and end up rating rapid service more than great qualities of the product. SO, this company took the time to ask me ONE YEAR LATER how I felt. This takes courage, and I like that. My product has functioned as perfectly as a consumer would want. Installation was a snap, the installationinstructions couldn't have been better, and over time, this puppy has withstood serious abuse. There isn't a reason I can think of to not buy this product from this company. Enjoy!

Good hitch for my Toyota Landcruiser (100 series). Unsure why, but one of the bolts provided to affix the hitch was to go into a hole that was not threaded in the vehicle's frame.
Customer Service was absolutely fantastic. No issues in ordering, receiving or seeking help/tech support.
Have noted initial signs of oxidation along the weld/seem where the ball hitch gets inserted.
I am happy with my purchase, I'd recommend both the item and etrailer to a friend, and I hope to use etrailer again in the future as needed.
In December 2016, after much online research, I purchased a Draw-Tight 'frame' hitch from "etrailer" for my 2004 Lexus LX470, the Lexus version of a Toyota "Landcruiser". My experience with etrailer was totally positive; hitch was promptly shipped, well packaged and with all needed parts and instructions.
The mounted hitch is as attractive as I could hope for and does not detract from the vehicle either visually or functionally. It's now December 2017, and I am completely satisfied with both the hitch and with dealing with "etrailer".
Yes I left a two star review for the following reason. There was no consideration taken for the trailer wire hook ups. So now they cable is just dangling. I temporarily zip tied the trailer connection. Do you have a solution for this?

Thank you for your review. This particular hitch does not have a wiring harness bracket attached. The good news is you can add a bracket with part 18144 to keep the wiring harness from dangling and the no drill bracket part 18140 to attach the other bracket to the hitch. Please keep in mind these brackets are for a 4-way flat. Most users tuck the wiring into the cargo area when not in use.
The delivery was prompt. I waited until after the installation before reviewing. This was put onto a 2001 Toyota Landcruiser. The bolt holes lined up exactly as they were supposed to. Installation video was extremely helpful and accurate. In our install we were able to use all OEM bolts with the exception of the one supplied carriage bolt that had to be threaded through using the supplied fish wire tool. Other supplied bolts were not needed. The only issue we had was that we had to install the drivers side front bolt first in order for everything to tighten down. If we didn't do that the hole was about 1mm off true which made it impossible to start threading the bolt. Other than that the installation went smoothly. Confirmation that it is not necessary either to remove the spare tire or drop the exhaust lower. Supplied literature with the bolt kit was very helpful but read it carefully. Print is very small and it is easy to mix up bolts and torque settings if you rush. Overall extremely pleased. My only expense was a decent torque wrench which I didn't own. I had expected to spend $500-600 to replace this hitch and have to use someone else to do it as I'm pretty non mechanical.
This hitch works great I installed it and used it to haul 5000lbs worth of trailer from Michigan to Alaska.
But more than the hitch I want to say how truely amazing Etrailer is! From there customer service to installation videos to the little gadgets included in the kit to ease the installation everything is top notch. Reminds me of old school customer service. The foundation of a truely great company.

Good product. Easy install. Keep in mind if you are planning on doing much 4 wheeling this hitch will be the lowest point on your frame and prone to scraping on moderate 4 wheel roads. The hitch is solidly constructed and can withstand a beating. I'd buy it again. Its pulled several utility trailers, a 21' chaparral, and an 22' airstream.
2001 Stock 100 series landcruiser
2006 Toyota Landcruiser. All in all the installation took a couple of hours. There were two challenges which had to be addressed and perhaps should have been in the installation instructions. First for the third bold installation location on the left of the frame, the hole was partially covered by the way the frame was welded together. I used a Dremel to cut away the frame portion obstructing the hole. Getting the bold to thread was a effort as well. Through a combination of cleaning with WD-40 and using one of the OEM bolts from the Tie down (which are designed to cut and clean as they thread), I was able to open up the threads sufficiently so that the supplied bolt could get in. The second issue is the wiring socket on the 2006. Put it over the hitch before mounting the hitch. I was able to find a hole in the frame and drilled a hole in the original bracket to align with that hole and using a standard bold was able to secure it in place. It was helpful to lower the spare for more room. Other than these two challenges the installation was smooth and the hitch looks great.
Look of product is great, fit is fair. In the install video, they don't mention that this hitch receiver will require you to remove the factory wiring bracket... this wasn't addressed at ALL in the install video. Strike two was that the fish wire, bolt and plate at around 7:00 min in the video were NOT included at all, and the instructions enclosed were for a different product altogether. If this this didn't weight 75 lbs, I would've returned it based on that. Now I have a hitch receiver and no way to plug in the lights to make it street legal. Great fast shipping, great price. You get what you pay for.
I installed this on a 2003 Lexus LX470. The hitch and hardware installed great. I did however run into an unexpected problem. My LX has a factory 7 pin plug mounted in a location that no longer works with the hitch in place. I now need to fabricate a new bracket and possibly redo the wiring if it is not long enough for the new location. For now zip ties will have to do
This is an easy, straight-forward install but watching etrailer's VIDEO ONLINE helped me see how to fish that one odd bolt in, and how to take off the fascia on my '99 LX 470. It's the least expensive receiver I found and is simple and stout.
I liked that it went in where the existing tow points are so that you're insured four pristine bolts holes. What I mean is, I couldn't get the extra bolt into my frame on the drivers side because the threads of the hole and the frame were not lined up. But I'm confident in the strength of having the two bolts on each side along with the extra one next to the fascia. That last one is just an extra precaution, but not a necessity. This hitch isn't going anywhere, even with just four bolts in it.
Great product. The website made it very simple to order and I had the product in 3 working days. The hitch we got had a some scratches but we sprayed it with truck bed liner which I think every hitch should be for rust protection. I would buy these products any time. We also ordered a rack system for our landcruise which was easy to order as well. Great products at a great price!
Item arrived faster than I thought. Hitch fit exactly. Easy to install. Kit contained everything I needed. However while not part of the package I would recommend getting new OEM bolts for those removed and reused. The most difficult part of the task was getting the old OEM frame bolts to re thread. But I finally did and it is extremely secure. In addition, if you have a factory trailer light (2003 Land cruiser) assembly it will need to be removed and re positioned.
Personal service and the etrailer team's willingness to confirm how quickly my order would ship are one of the many reasons that I won't hesitate ordering again. Parts arrived as promised and were accompanied by simple installation tutorials. Don't waste your time shopping anywhere else!

ordering process and shipping was excellent! the hitch arrived the next day!! directions were good and they have videos on how to do it for a 16 year old vehicle. installation was fairly easy although getting 19mm bolts off a 16 year vehicle wasn't easy...I needed to use an air gun to do it. great company and service.
I got my hitch real fast for my truck to be quite honest I wasn't expecting it this fast glad I did came with all hardware looking forward to doing business in the future with these guys good job fellas.
Video install instructions make this a snap, always some issues with older vehicles (bolts, screws, etc..) but the hitch works great, thanks for making the process easy!
