Video Transcript for Saris Bike Wheel Straps Review

Today we are going to be taking a look at a Saris bike wheel strap in a two pack, part number Sa3033. I'll go ahead and show you how your bike rides with a saris bike strap and without a strap. The saris bike strap is designed to keep the front and back wheels from spinning and also the front wheels from turning and coming in contact with your other bikes, the bike rack, or the back of the vehicle. There are several ways that the saris bike strap can be used. You can use it to attach the front wheel to the frame up here, or you can use the strap to attach both the front and back tires together. This is going to help keep them both from spinning and from spinning the pedals can move and come in contact with the bike rack or your other bikes. What we'll do is we'll start of by simply just wrapping the strap around the back tire coming up around the frame and then around the front tire like so. Then we'll meet the two together in the center and we'll take the end of the strap that does not have the buckle and insert it through the groove here, out through the other slot, and pull it tight.

Now actually I'm going to go ahead and adjust the location of the strap, because you can see the strap does come in contact with this part of the bike and I don't want anything to get pinched or damaged. Now what we'll do is we'll just go ahead and pinch in the tabs and buckles over here and allow it to easily disconnect and we'll go ahead and move this and you can see that we have already had the straps secured to each end of the buckle. I just took it apart real quickly by pressing in the two tabs of the buckle; now its already set, now we'll simply just pull it tight. Then you can see both the back tire and front tire aren't gonna be able to spin anymore, and also not going to have as much twist to be able to come in contact with your bikes or the back of the vehicle. Then if you are not really worried about securing the back tire, again, you can just secure it to the frame up here, this will give you another connection option. Pull this tight, and then after securing the excess slack, you can see that again it will prevent the tire and handle bar from moving back and forth and coming in contact with the other bikes or the back of the vehicle. Now I'll go ahead and show you how your bike rides with a saris bike strap and without a strap. With that that will complete today's review of the saris bike wheel straps in a two pack, part number SA3033. .

I ordered by phone and told the person what straps I needed but wouldn’t be able to get them until in March. The salesperson said that these would work. No you they won’t. I needed the one to hook to the back of my Rogue. The stabilizer strap. These are for bike wheels. Totally wrong.

Well that is not good to hear at all. Yeah, I can see in the notes on your order, that there was some confusion on what these straps are meant for and what you were needing. I am so sorry for this confusion. This is an anchor strap, to hold your wheels in place while in transit. As you mentioned, you will be needing a Curt stabilizer strap that will hold your entire bike rack in place, using a clip on the end of the strap that connects to the vehicle. It looks to me, like part # 18050 (the part you originally requested) was out of stock and has recently been updated to in stock on our site. I will get this information over to customer service for them to get a refund in place and see what we can do to get you the Curt strap.

  • Will Saris Solo 1-Bike Trunk Carrier SA102 Fit on 2014 BMW X3
Yes, the Saris Solo 1-Bike trunk carrier # SA102 which is shown in the linked video is a fit on your 2014 BMW X3 as long as it does not have a rear spoiler at the roof line. Despite it weighing only 2-lbs this single bike carrier can handle a single bike up to 35-lbs. If you like you can add the handlebar and wheel stabilizer kit # SA3033 which keep the bars steady and the front wheel from turning as you drive.

  • Is There A Way Of Tying Down The Bike When Using The Thule Insta-Gater Pro Truck Bed Bike Rack TH93V
Hi Jim, so in our experience with the Thule Insta-Gater Pro Truck Bed Bike Rack # TH93VR the bike will be stable with very little movement. You may a small bit of movement of the front tire when going over bumps but nothing severe at all. You could add some stabilizer straps like part # SA3033 to help keep the tires in line with the frame at all times. They might be nice to have especially if you plan to be taking long trips with your bike. The straps are definitely not required though....

  • Fit and Compatibility of Trunk Mounted Bike Rack on a 2015 Cadillac CTS
For your sedan 2015 Cadillac CTS we carry one trunk mounted rack from Saris that is compatible. It's the Saris Bones in Black # SA805BL Some accessories I recommend to help protect your vehicle from the bikes and rack are the Protect-O-Pads # SA2060 and the Bike Wheel and Handlebar Stabilizers # SA3033. For added security and to lock your bike to the rack Saris has a cable lock # SA981. While we don't have a video of this rack installed on a sedan I have linked an image of what it will...

The Saris Bones 3 # SA801BL is a confirmed fit for your 2009 Subaru Legacy and has an arched base that will accommodate most spoilers. If you have an OEM spoiler then it should fit just fine. I also recommend adding some security to your Bones 3 to deter theft of your bike(s) and bike rack. The Hatch Huggers # SA3035, and Cable Lock # SA981 can be added to help give you some peace of mind. For your 2006 Audi S4 Convertible, I recommend the Saris Bones 2 Bike Carrier - Adjustable Arms - Trunk Mount, # SA805BL. This is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. It's Ached design fits over most spoilers and the injection-molded plastic arms and legs are durable and rustproof. Articulated rubber feet and vinyl-coated hooks help protect your vehicle. • Does The Swagman XC 2-Bike Platform Rack Have Wheel Straps?
On your Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack Platform Style for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches # S64650, I have not heard of a bike coming loose until now. There are not bike straps that come with this hitch because they are not needed. The adjustable hoops should be cradling your wheels so they won't move much front to back or left to right. The frame hooks should keep the bike from moving up and down. The XTC-2 bike rack # S64670 you mentioned having hooks on the wheels does so because of a different...

  • Using a Stabilizer Strap with a 2017 Mini Clubman 2 Door Hatch
Curt does require use of a stabilization strap for their Class I Hitches. Normally, you'd use a Stabilizing Strap like part # 18050 but like many hatchback vehicles, you're running into a simple problem that is easy to fix. For this, you'll want to purchase part # Y02612 , a set of Yakima Glass Hatch adapters. This part will give you an alternate location to hook the stabilizing strap to that will evenly apply pressure to the padded security bar, removing the need to mount the support...

  • Trunk Bike Rack for 2010 Honda Fit Sport with Spoiler
I do have a great option for your car, however the Thule Passage 2 Bike Rack is not a confirmed fit for the Honda Fit Sport. I can recommend another similar bike rack, the Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack # SA803. The Saris Bones EX 2 would also fit your car, but we only have the 3-bike version of the EX series. This bike rack is designed for more compatibility with other types of cars and spoilers. It has similar features to the Thule Passage, but I personally really like how the Saris with...

  • Will Saris Bones Trunk Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Mazda 3 Hatchback
The Saris Bones 2 Bike Rack # SA805BL is a very popular option that fits your 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback as long as you don't have the rear spoiler. If you do have the spoiler then you need the Saris Bones EX 2 Bike Rack # SAR83FR instead. These have anti-sway straps but these essentially just limit the amount of bike movement so to avoid bike to vehicle and bike to bike contact you'll want to use the Protect-O-Pads # SA2060. I also recommend using the Stabilizer Straps # SA3033 to help keep...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 Coupe
I reached out to the biggest suppliers of trailer hitches, and neither Curt or Cequent (the maker of draw-tite, reese and hidden hitch) have a fit for your 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 Coupe. So, unfortunately I don't have a trailer hitch receiver that is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. If I can help you with a trunk mounted bike rack or a roof rack to meet your needs, please let me know and I'd be happy to make a recommendation.
