Second time shipping the SAME product and the hitch is hanging outside of the box, getting dragged around by UPS. Again all of the paint in scraped off the entire mounting plates. Oh, and that is the last time they will replace a damaged product, just awesome. etrailer needs a MUCH better system of getting large products shipped WITHOUT getting damaged. If I ran a business like that, I would not last long. Terrible. So I sanded the entire thing down, etch primed it, and bed-lined the entire hitch. Thanks a-lot for all the EXTRA work! Very last time I will order from them.
Easy to install and functional, but be aware of these two issues. First, the hitch sticks out about 4-5" from the bumper making it very dangerous for bumping into. Second, it interferes with the foot sensor for opening the hatch. Was advised by service personnel at Acura that it can cause hatch to open while driving. The Acura hitch is recessed within the replacement panel for the lower bumper and includes a built in foot sensor.
It fit my 2019 RDX. The installation was hard because you have to remove the exhaust pipes. Just put a bit of oil (or grease) and that will help removing the rubber that holds it. once that was done it was easy to install and fit perfectly. I would suggest that you get the 2” hitch or get a 1-1/4 to 2” adapter as lots of products use the 2” hole. Other than I’m happy with it
Removed the bumper fascia and was able to position the hitch without lowering the exhaust. Will need to trim about 1/2 inch off the bottom of the fascia to reinstall it. My RDX has the hands free tailgate and I may need to reposition the sensor to get it working.
Super simple to install. The bolts and bolt holes where perfect. I installed it myself without a hoist in about 30 minutes.
I have a 2019 Aspec RLX. This hitch should take no more than 30 minutes to install, I was able to fit it without moving the exhaust at all. We had a problem with one bolt hole, we could NOT get the bolt to start straight no matter what we did, and finally did after 45 minutes of fooling around. Suggest you put all bolts in all the way and then removing BEFORE installing the hitch.
Also had to use a pry bar on the hitch to line up all the last hole. Once we got all bolts in, it was a snap.
Really useful hitch for attaching our bike rack - wish that the hitch tubing did not extend beyond the rear fender, but that was the compromise to get this hitch onto the RDX.
