Easy Installation without moving nothing from my car the only think is that's you gonna need a tiny drill
Thank again etrailer

The hitch is well built and easy to install. It doesn't detract from the vehicles appearence.

David,Do you by any chance have pictures of what the hitch look like installed in your vehicle?

Mercedes-Benz

I've towed racing sailboats for many years, mostly with European automobiles. Needed the hitch later this month so I could pick up a "new" one I just bought . This install was the second easiest out of the 6th I've done myself. High quality kit fits great. Even though Curt says the C11701 doesn't work on my 2008 Mercedes E350 4Matic Sedan Sport, I had absolutely no problems. The Tekonsha light converter was a snap too. Certainly lots better than the old days when I had to jury-rig the trailer lighting to match the car. Finally, your service was super. Couldn't be happier. Thanks!

So easy to install,me and my 14 year old son installed it in 30 minutes.
Good product.

Ford Edge

Great hitch. Installed easy. Didn't have to totally remove bumper just disconnect rear lower edge and load hitch in a zig zag way. Much better than messing with your bodywork. etrailer service poor. Hitch arrive in busted up box half hanging out all scratched up and the etrailer solution was we'll give you the cost of a rattle can of paint to fix the oven baked on powder coat finish. So i'll use and abuse etrailer for information and buy elsewhere.

2006 Isuzu Trooper

First of all, it's important to note that I am a novice with limited tools and less experience. After having such a positive experience with buying and installing the DrawTite hitch on my Saab 9.3, I had a false sense of confidence going into this one. I was totally disappointed with the experience with this Curt hitch. I don't know if it's a brand difference, or just that so few people put a hitch on a Mercedes E350.

Hitch Product - 3 Star, Service - 2 Star, Instructions - 1 star, Installation Parts - 5 Star

I gave the hitch 3 stars because I really wanted a Class 2 hitch and i was super disappointed that I couldn't get one. This car has a more powerful engine than my old Isuzu Trooper, so I'd like to tow with it. Also, the tabs that are attached to the Spare Tire well are a little too short. At least, I think it would be easier to install if they were about 1/2" longer. Frankly, I think that would give the hitch stronger torsional strength. I'm no mechanical engineer, so if I'm wrong, forgive me. :)

While the service was very friendly, and in general my other experience was pure 5 star, I was very disappointed that they had no help for me when the grossly insufficient instructions failed me. If the product has poor instructions, it would be nice if you had some more help either online or with a person that could help me understand some of the terms better and fill in the missing links.

Insufficient instructions was the HUGE failure here. I had just 30 days earlier installed a DrawTite Class II on my Saab 9.3, so I was very confident that this would be quick and easy. I spent all day on this project and did NOT succeed. I had to ask my mechanic to finish the job.

The instructions completely missed several steps at least for my 2006 E350 Wagon:
- you will need to lower the exhaust. This is WAY harder on my Mercedes than it was on my Saab. I actually couldn't figure it out and eventually gave up and paid my mechanic to do it.
- There are several interior parts that will need to be moved or removed in order to access the holes that you will need to drill.
- There are a few tabs under the bumper that attach to the frame, that will need to be unscrewed and re-installed.
- It would be good if there were a way to ensure that the hitch is far forward enough (toward the front of the car) to reach the box into which you will drill the holes. Alternatively, the tabs should be longer.

The hitch is fairly hidden in the end, although more prominently visible than the DrawTite Class II on my Saab 9.3.

Frankly, this does not sour me on eTrailer at all. I'd highly recommend this site. However, I would avoid Curt in the future, if there's a DrawTite alternative. And if there isn't, I might just suck it up and go to a mechanic.

2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I needed a tiny receiver installed that would fit my bike rack. When the local shop gave me my car back they said it was the easiest job they had done. I love the rack mostly because it fits perfectly. I've taken it on a couple of long rides and everything is perfect. If you need any kind of hitch, start here. Got it in days as well!

by:

took me about 2 hours, nice fit. the rear most muffler hanger brackets had to be removed(2 nuts each). and i think installing the driver side 1st would be easier. i had to wrestle the tailpipe out of the way , but did it alone. jacked up the rear of the car and used jackstands to give me a little more light and working space. also used a small hydraulic jack to move the muffler to make it easier to connect and disconnect the hanger brackets. also propping up the hitch while connecting the u-bolt clamps is a must.

by:

Needle to lower exhaust on both sides to drill hole through sub frame and it was difficult to get drill located . Otherwise the hitch fit well.
One of the bumper fascia brackets would not re install properly due to interference from cross bar of hitch.

2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Although I haven't mounted the hitch to my car, yet, etrailer was great for the following reasons: 1) easy of product identification (once I put in the type of car the hitch was for, the online system provided me with appropriate options), 2) speed of ordering process (once I knew the item I needed, the online system made ordering the product very easy), and 3) delivery speed (after ordering the hitch, it arrived at my house within a week, which was far faster than other auto part stores). So far, I am very happy with etrailer.

by:
2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

2007 E320, perfect fit and super easy to install. Really didn't need to remove the bumper as shown in the installation video as long as you have a shorter drill and drill bit.

Mercedes-Benz

A custom fit Mercedes couldn’t have made a better fit. The only problem I had was the tail pipes getting over took a lot of work other than that the only power tools needed was drilling two 3/8 holes anyone buying this hitch I give it five stars

  • Towing Capacity of Curt Trailer Hitch for 2007 Mercedes E-350
The Curt hitch part # C11701 is a confirmed fit for your 2007 Mercedes Benz E-350 and has a towing capacity of 2,500 lbs. You'd have to contact a Mercedes dealer or the owner's manual to determine what the vehicle's towing capacity is and be sure not to exceed the lowest capacity between the hitch and the vehicle. For a ball mount you'd want the part # C45561 and then for wiring you'd want the part # 119250KIT which is a confirmed fit and will work well.

It's critically important when you start out looking to tow things with your vehicle that you use a hitch that is designed to be used with your vehicle and a rig/trailer accessories that are designed to be used with that hitch. Your 2006 Mercedes E350 Wagon is designed to be equipped with Class I hitches only, such as the Curt # C11701 , designed for light-duty towing, has a tongue weight capacity of 250 lbs, and a gross trailer weight capacity of 2500 lbs. • Is There a Class III Hitch for a 2003 Mercedes Benz E320 Sedan
I do have an option for you but the only available trailer hitch option for a 2003 Mercedes Benz E320 Sedan is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11701 which has a class I rating. Unfortunately, they do not offer larger class III rating for these smaller vehicles. That said, you can use an adapter to obtain the larger opening but keep in mind it will reduce weight capacity. For this, I recommend the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver with 5" Rise part # HT5R.
