Will Thule T2 Pro Platform Bike Rack Fit on a 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350
Question:
Will this rack fit on a Mercedes E350 if I get a 2inch receiver installed? Do you think this would be too heavy with 2 bikes weighing approx 50lbs each?

If your 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350 is either the sedan (not sport model) or wagon model then the trailer hitch that will fit is the Curt # C11701. This hitch has a 1-1/4 inch receiver. There is not a 2 inch trailer hitch available for your vehicle at this time. I have the installation instructions attached.
Since there is not a 2 inch receiver for your vehicle, the Thule T2 Pro Platform for 2 Inch Receivers # TH83JV that you referenced will not fit.
According to the Thule fit guide, the Thule T2 Classic Platform for 1-1/4 Inch Receivers # TH9045 will fit your vehicle if it is either the 4 door sedan or 4 door wagon. This bike rack has a weight capacity of 100 lbs for the two bikes combined or 60 lbs for a single bike.
Some of the nice features of this bike rack are the integrated locking system that secures your bikes to the rack, the built-in anti-wobble device which stabilizes the bike rack in the receiver and the Snug-Tite lock which secures the rack to the hitch.
Please check your owners manual for the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle. The tongue weight limit is your guideline as to how much weight you can carry on your hitch.
As a final note, Curt requires the Curt Stabilization Strap # 18050 on all non-trailer accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers. This strap will reduce the stress on your hitch.
