2014 BMW 5 Series
It fits the 2014 535D
Was not a 10/10 for the install, maybe 8/10.
Guessing 1 hr pro install time based on all tools, assortment of extra parts, lift, helper, and having done a few hundred. I'm an aircraft mechanic and it took me just over 4, alone, on car ramps, and never done it before. Hardest part was getting the bolts in the bumper, especially the one on the passenger side.
Save yourself some time and replaced the 2" carriage bolts with 2.5". I got 3" and will just cut them off later.
For the 535D, take off the cover under the DEF tank and install the mounting bolt on the passenger side first, trust me.
The deburring of the square hole was not very good, make sure the carriage bolts fit and file the ones that don't.
Bonus, didn't need to move the battery for the install, there was plenty of room.
Lastly, yes the kick to open auto trunk does work with this installed.

Products seems to of good quality. I'll provide more details as I start using it. Coating looks of a good quality as well. Instructions were clear.
I would had give a 5 starts instead of 4. But the only down side was the bolts were too short, not long enough to install the 1" bolt hole spacers (pic attached). They should've been 3/4" longer. Kit should also include the small tube of caulk to apply sealant as instructed.

Excellent trailer installed it my self on my bmw f10 2013 5 series took about an hour to install it im using this for my jetskis, and i will be buying another set for my other bmw just wanted to test this and its great thanks . Fast shipping as well

I found etrailer on the web after searching for hitches for my BMW 5 series diesel. I called them wanting to know why they offered a hitch for the 535i series, but not the 535d. Lisa was extremely helpful in finding the proper hitch. I am very pleased with the hitch and wiring kit.

The hitch itself I believe is well made. The install was not straight forward. It was difficult feeding the bolts using the fishwire on the passenger side. Probably took 20 minutes of fiddling to get the wire through. The bolts that went through the trunk were too short by about 1/2" on my 2013 550i. Picked up some new carriage bolts from hardware store, so not deal breaker, just annoying. This is just for my bike rack, don't think I would trust it towing something very heavy.

At first I thought the bolts were too short to secure the center support to where you drill the holes into the well, but after a while of working it, I was finally able to grab some threads. Also, I noticed some paint flaking off the unit, must have been from the install...All in all, would purchase again.

The hitch installed exactly as shown on the video. The written directions were not as good as the video but we're sufficient. I had a bit of difficulty with the wiring. I learned that newer cars maintain voltage to the turn signals so it can detect when a bulb is out. A little more direction on the wiring along with some tips would be great. I don't hesitate recommending this product to anyone with the skills to change their oil and 5 the guts to drill a hole in their car. Great product. The package arrived with all of the parts and instructions. Works as advertised.

Order went through smoothly and shipping and delivery were timely. Instructions for installation were good, and local installer complete the job. Hitch is used for Thule bike rack and works well. Hitch looks good on passenger vehicle. Would highly recommend etrailer.

I got the hitch for my 2014 BMW 535xd, uncertain as to whether it would fit....The etrailer guys were pretty sure it would, but called Curt who said it wouldn't. I decided to take a chance and am glad I did. The fit was perfect and the quality of the product is high. The installation was straight forward, but the fish wire and fitting the trunk bolts was tricky by myself. After a bit of moving things around it came together. Thanks to etrailer. I hope Curt will learn their lesson and list fitment for the xdrive diesel cars......
