It looks like a child packed this hitch mount! Let's just throwca heavy steel part, in a cardboard box, with no padding whatsoever! Could you care any less etrailer

I see that the box did arrive in rough shape. I will also let our shipping department know how it was delivered. We will be in contact with you to see if the hitch had any damage.

2012 Audi A4

Great price, quick shipping and excellent service. The hitch is solid quality and had it installed by my mechanic. Perfect for my bike rack behind a Audi A4 Avant. I would suggest an adapter with the 4 1/2 rise to prevent bottoming out of the bike rack with cars that are low to the ground.

by:
2014 Audi Allroad

Working great. I use it for a bike rack on my Audi Allroad. Two person install, took about 2 hours. Very helpful to have wheel ramps.

by:
2015 Audi Allroad

Fast shipment, easy, clean install with basic tools on my 2015 Audi Allroad Premium plus. Recommend ramps to elevate the rear and a floor jack to hold the hitch and move it into position if you’re doing this solo.

by:
2014 Audi Allroad

Only downside is that I couldn't find a cargo carrier with a 1.25 inch connector to fit this hitch. They all have 2 inch connectors, so I had to get an adapter...which causes the cargo carrier to be farther from the car and almost too low to drive with. This hitch is probably better for bike carriers.

Pontiac Trans Sport Van

I use this hitch primarily for a hitch carrier. I am a Hunter and would not want to place harvested game inside of my Audi. This rack allows me to keep the game animals out of the vehicle while being transported to the processor. I also use it to transport power yard tools and gasoline. I can place chain saws, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, etc. on the rack and not worry about spilled oil or gasoline smelling up the inside of the car. Just remember not to overload the recommended tongue weight and slow down over road irregularities such as railroad tracks etc.

Still loving it.

Install is a bit challenging as you have to lower the exhaust and figure out a way to lift the heavy receiver into place while navigating very tight tolerances on the bolts and fishwire, but once in a very study and seamless OEM looking install. Providing two extra fishwires would be a good idea in case you bend one.

I have had the trailer hitch for one year. I had it installed at my local auto shop and they did a good job. I use the hitch to hold my bike rack. I haven't experienced any problems with it. It's easy to attach the bike rack, and it's very secure.

2013 Audi Allroad

I have a 2013 Audi allroad. This hitch fits great, though it took me a lot longer than 2 hours to install. I’ve installed 3 hitches on other cars so I have some experience. The instructions that come with the hitch from Curt are not perfect and could use more detail. Also, for my model year at least, the rear bumper fascia bolts do not need to be removed. In fact if you do, you need to put them back before mounting the hitch because the hitch blocks the screw holes. You also need to lower the exhaust system - a lot. To get it back in place you will need to jack it up to get it re-attached. Last thing - the bolts that Curt supply could have been longer, there was barely enough thread to attach the nuts. You need to cut out an opening in the heat shield, not just punch a hole in it. I needed help from two others to hold the hitch in place while threading the nuts. I’ve installed the Eco-Hitch on a VW where I needed to remove the rear number assembly and cut out a piece of the bumper. That was an easier job than this.

My hitch was a bit delayed after ordering. I received an email letting me know it would be delayed and an estimated ETA. What a pleasant surprise! A second email arrived with an update and tracking info. Excellent communication. I can't express how great the buying experience has been. Highly recommend etrailer.

As for hitch, this is my second Curt. Haven't installed yet but looks great and I am confident
I will have no issues.

Product wasn't as easy to self install on an 2013 Audi A4 All Road. Luckily there was a Curt hitch installer at a local garage. The product had to be straightened out a little bit. Tabs bent very little from shipping. Good product. Etrailer provided great customer service when I had questions. Thank you.

Our receiver hitch is working great. Installed it on an Audi Allroad and use it with a Kuat Sherpa tray style bike rack. Use it all the time and love it.

I was directed to etrailer by the local hitch installer. etrailer had the parts I needed in stock, and each was delivered on time. The parts were professional installed and allowed me to attach my bike rack.

by:

I've yet to install the receiver on my car, but delivery was very prompt, as etrailer.com expedited shipping at no additional cost. I look forward to following back up with pictures of the receiver installed.

Easy installation - even for a complete newb like me. Strongly recommend reading the instructions before hand and understanding what's needed as far as tools (they're listed specifically).

Can't recommend etrailer higher enough - the ease of shopping on their website, price point, free and FAST shipping, superior communication, and product quality.

by:

Relatively easy install. Excellent instructions. Just plan on having an extra set of hands or some sort of support to hold the hitch in place while bolting it up.

Installation was a breeze with basic hand tools. The fish wire in particular is a very neat inclusion in the install package.

  • Will Brophy Rising Hitch Adapter Clear Rear Bumper on 2013 Honda Accord
On adapter # HT5R it measures 3-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright that supports the 2 inch receiver. For Curt hitch # C11681 for the 2013 Honda Accord it should measure about 2-1/2 inches to clear the rear bumper so the adapter would work. However, the use of an adapter reduces the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent and it also puts additional stress on the hitch. That would mean instead of 200 pounds the tongue weight capacity will...

I don't show the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7324 listed as a fit for a 2012 Audi A4 Avant Wagon but I do have an option that is, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11195. It only has a 1-1/4" opening but you can use 2" accessories with the Brophy Hitch Adapter part # HTAD just keep in mind your capacity will be reduce 50%.

  • Recommended Hitch for 2009 Audi A4 Avant Wagon
I was able to confirm with Curt that the correct hitch for the 2009 Audi A4 Avant Wagon is the Curt Class I Round Tube Receiver Hitch # C11195, which will provide you with a 1-1/4" Class I receiver on your vehicle. If you're going to be towing a light weight trailer with this hitch you'll also need trailer wiring and a ball mount/hitch ball combo. For the wiring I recommend using the Tekonsha # 119250KIT because we've found that the converter boxes on the Tekonsha kits are a bit more...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2011 Audi A4 Avant Wagon
For your 2011 Audi A4 Avant Wagon the trailer hitch we'd recommend is the Curt part # C11195 that you referenced. Since we don't have any shops near you your best option will be to find a local mechanic to you with a good reputation and let them do the install. Hitch installs are pretty basic for qualified mechanics so this would be very easy for them.

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2016 Audi Allroad
Yes, for your 2016 Audi Allroad I recommend Curt trailer hitch # C11195. This is a Class I trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch. Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load...

  • Recommended Method for Carrying 4 Bikes on 2009 Audi A4 Wagon
You are correct that there is only a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver # C11195 available for your Audi A4 Wagon. You are also correct that when using a 1-1/4" receiver that you are limited to a 2 bike rack. I have a solution for you to carry 4 bikes, but using a hitch extender or adapter like the # HTAD reduces the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50%, so it will not be a good option. Your best bet is going to be carrying 2 bikes on a rack and 2 on the roof, using a roof rack...

  • Ground Clearance When Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11195 is Installed on a 2014 Audi Allroad
We've never had the chance to install the Curt trailer hitch receiver, part # C11195, on a 2014 Audi Allroad so I don't have that exact measurement for you. However, the hitch from the point where it connects to the vehicle's frame rails to its lowest point measures about 10 inches. So if you measure on your vehicle from the bottom of the frame rails where it installs to the ground and subtract 10 inches you'll have a pretty close estimate. If you're going to be towing a trailer you...

For the rack that will support 2 adult-sized bikes, I recommend the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # HR200Z. First, for a trailer hitch for your 2010 BMW 328i I recommend Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24857. This, and all the hitches for your 328i, is a Class I trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. So you will need a bike rack that is compatible with a Class I hitch. We do have great two-bike options that prevent all contact between the bikes when travelling. My favorite option is the Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" Hitches, part # TH9045. The strap is meant to relieve some of the stress from the hitch when used for any non-trailer load such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. Other manufacturers do not require a strap.
