It is still working fine unfortunately the engine is giving a problem at this time.

The Curt Trailer Hitch was a perfect fit. However, it was a struggle to mate the hitch flange for bolting. However, the two of us were working with close clearance and fitting the two ends in the area of the vehicle springs and spring mounts. Using a vehicle lift would have made the job easier. Instructions were easy to follow. It is a two-person job to install the hitch. The hitch is made of high quality and really looks nice!

Great customer service on the phone. Very quick delivery. I haven't mounted the hitch yet but it looks great.

Nissan Leaf

Installation was somewhat difficult. The hitch was about a 1/2 in to narrow. I needed a piece of wood and a 3lb hammer to set the hitch in place. The attached photo shows the interference with the body flange.

It then took a specific bolt tightening sequence to get the holes to line up.
1. The most forward, single bolt was started.
2. The center alignment bolt for the leaf spring bracket had to be 3/4 tightened.
This step aligned the rest of the holes.
3. The rest of the bolts could then be installed.

I have not yet towed, but I'm confident the Hitch will pull my pop-up with no problems.

I will review the wire harness separately.

Very fast shipping. Curt hitches are very good quality hitches. I have bought them before and they work great. Install was not hard but a little tricky. I definitely used and needed 2 people for the install. Everything fit perfectly once installed. The videos on etrailer were awesome to watch and made installation very easy. A word of advice: make sure to spray down the mounting bolts on your vehicle a couple of days before your install. Then try and pre-loosen them before your install day as well. This will make for a smoother install. (Actually I did this even before ordering the hitch to make sure my bolts would come loose and the install would be possible)

by:
Chevrolet Colorado

Shipping from Missouri to Colorado was fast. I had the hitch shipped to a UPS terminal and when I arrived to pick it up it was pointed out to me that it had broken through the box in two places. Packing rates a C minus.
I installed the hitch as a solo effort made easier by getting the van up on jack stands and using my floor jack to position the rather heavy hitch. To say the fit is tight is an understatement. Eventually, everything went together but I had to get out the BFH to do some fine tuning.
The hitch hugs the rear bumper and is unobtrusive. If it weathers well I'll be quite pleased with the unit.

by:

Quality hitch. Easy to install using existing bolts on van. Will be using bike rack and I have already tested it out. Works great and very solid.Highly recommend this product and etrailers information and videos help to pick right one for your application. Thanks etrailer!

Originally I ordered a different hitch thru U-Haul, but they said it was too difficult to install and they couldn't do it, so I came here and found this model. It fits perfectly. The product seems to be very well made. No hardware provided as it uses existing bolts already on car. I had it installed at local garage. They didn't want to do it, but I explained that the video showed it was easy, so they agreed to take a look. In the end they said it was difficult to get past springs, but they did it and I'm happy.

I have never been so happy to have bought this product. Its has gone way past my expectations. Easy to install, and has held up and pull so much more then I ever thought it could. The staff at etrailer has been awesome, the service has been awesome, I will continue to do business here.

by:
2007 Chrysler Town and Country

I was able to install the trailer hitch in about 30 minutes as advertised. It's the best quality and best looking hitch I have ever had in my whole life. The only thing that would have better with the whole experience is if there would have been some written or physical instruction as to how maneuver the hitch into the proper position on the vehicle. Upon first inspecting the hitch my first instinct was "it will never fit, it must be the wrong one" After realizing that it would in fact fit with the proper manipulation my confidence was restored and it was a wonderful installation. Thank you very much!

Dodge Grand Caravan

I wanted a hitch for my Grand Caravan to do be able to tow my small utility trailer, and maybe a pop-up camper. I purchased this model because of the choices I had this one should have been easiest to install. The installation of this hitch went easier than I expected. I had someone help me lift and position the hitch into place, which made the overall installation one of the fastest I have performed. I didn't even have to do much prying to get it to line up to the holes. The only complaint I have is due to the tight space this hitch was designed for, I get a little exhaust rattle now as there is only about a 1/4" of space between the muffler and hitch. Some of that could be due to the age and mileage of the vehicle, so I may need to do some adjusting of the exhaust system and replace worn hangers to see if that cures the issue. Other than that, I am very pleased with this product.

I will say I made a decision not to have the hitch installed professionally because the video shiiws it so easy and the reviews were all good there was one guy who had trouble with busted box and a hitch that did not fit. Well I have been fighting getting this one in it's been about 3 hours the flanges on bottom of van where the body is pinched together the hitch has to slide past these on both sides as you get one in the other now won't go past. So after putting and jacking it up with a table lift I got it past the welded body panel lips to find the front tab is bent back enough you now have to try and fight to get the front bolt started with the back volts out the hole barely lines up. I would say the box shipping is the blame as it was poking out of the box in several places and evidently the thing weighs enough to bend the tabs. Also it takes 18 mm sockets for front volts and 15 mm for back volts. I'm going to auto parts store to get another bolt and try to co.plete the install as the hole in the hitch is out of wack enough it eats up the threads on the bolt. After all this work it's really going to be a bummer to yank it back out. Also we ordered suspension upgrades that retailer could not get till August so we had to cancel the order. I'm not 100 percent happy with the product or the delivery standards.

The mounting flanges on a trailer hitch are designed for straight line strength, not lateral strength. The flanges are actually designed to have some give in them, so that if they get flexed during shipping, they can be easily bent back into place. As long as the powder coat didnt crack and there arent any cracks in the mounting flange itself, the hitch will work just fine after being bent back into place. Ill link you to a help article that shows a few different methods of manipulating the hitch back into place, which should be done before using the hitch.

After trying to get a hitch from uhaul (purchasing, waiting, being told finally they didn't have it afterall) I went online and found this one. The process was smooth and the hitch was delivered quickly. I paid uhaul to install it and was able to head out on my trip ther same day.
I used the hitch on my 2005 Chrysler town and country van to haul my two electric bikes from SoCal to Seattle and back. The trip was smooth, the hitch worked perfectly and a year later it still is going strong. Never any problems or concerns.

by:
2001 Dodge Grand Caravan

I have purchased two trailer hitches over the past 4-5 years. Both were well built and can be installed by the buyer. The instructions are clear.
The first was for a 2001 Olds van and I had very little problems putting it on. This included wiring and all. I had to replace the van and got a Dodge grand caravan sxt. Due to the van frame the hitch had to be moved around frame parts and due to the weight of the hitch, I ended up having a shop install it.
It was just too heavy for a 75 year old man to install by himself. Both hitches were/are great.
I hauled an open uhaul trailer from Alabama to NC several times and then from Knoxville to Raleigh for several trips. I continue using the hitch to haul a small trailer locally for relatives.
Yes, if I have to trade vans again, I would order another hitch form etrailer.
Howard

So far so good.
Installation on my 2005
Chrysler T & C was not as easy as the video suggested
Took it to a garage to be put up on the lift
Had to use a pry bar to get past the rear bushings
Once that occurred, it fit very well and up tight against the bumper

2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

First of all the hitch showed up five days earlier than advertised which was great! It took about thirty minutes by myself to install. I had the help of a floor jack to keep it in place while lining up holes and reinstalling bolts. Very pleased with how well everything lined up. Quality workmanship indeed!

Hitch looks like the day I installed it even though I live in an area where road salt is used. Hasn’t rusted like some cheaper models. I use it with a bicycle carrier carrying four bikes and it works great. I would definitely recommend this hitch.

by:
2005 Toyota Prius

this is the second tow hitch I have purchased from your company. Again, the install time is totally unrealistic! Took 3 hours to get it in. used 2 floor jacks, jack stands, 3lb sledgehammer and beat most of the paint off both sides to get it in. V shaped brackets would not fit around the leaf springs in the back. It almost like you are getting it right and then running through the furnace to bake the paint, which then moved metal supports. It will start rusting immediately where I had to beat it in, It was off about 4 mm, from fitting. it will start rusting immediately from me having to beat it in with the sledge. had to beat in the last one also on the prius. I think you need to check the fit after the oven baking process.

Dodge Grand Caravan

Very satisfied. This is the third trailer hitch that I have ordered from etrailer.com in the past several years. I've installed them on two Subaru's and this time I needed one for a Grand Caravan. This was the easiest installation yet.
I am not a mechanic. I can do basic car maintenance like changing oil, tires, and I've done a few brake jobs. I also don't have a garage to work in. I did the job in my driveway. Backing the van onto ramps gave me more clearance to work underneath, but wasn't necessary. Most important is having the right tools. Sockets with a long extension is essential. Wrenches won't work. Also, safety glasses to keep dirt out of your eyes!!
I did the installation by myself, so it also helped to have a floor jack to hold the hitch in place while I started the bolts. It is heavy. But the hitch fit perfectly with no struggle. I read in a previous review to make sure the hitch is flush against the frame before you start to tighten the bolts so you don't strip them. I couldn't get it completely flush at first but I did snug each bolt slowly and evenly until it seated properly. I also sprayed each bolt and the holes with WD 40. They don't give you bolts, you have to remove and reuse the existing ones, and mine were a bit rusty.
From start to finish, it took about 90 minutes, but it would have been faster if I had all my tools at hand and didn't have to go back and forth to my cellar to get things that I needed.
I haven't towed with it yet, but I'm confident it will pull my little pop-up camper with no problems!!

by:
Nissan Leaf

The safest way to install is to use car ramps instead of jacking your vehicle . I don’t trust car jacks while I’m underneath the weight of a car.

Unbolt three bolts on each side of the spring leaf of your vehicle. Just need two people on each side to lift up and position then bolt it in. Otherwise you will have a hard time installing on your own.

30 minutes. Easy install.

Saved a lot of money. Most hitch install shops wanted $400 and up.

Much harder to install than I was lead to believe. Had to hire a professional and he had to unhook part of the exhaust system in order to place the unit in a position so that the bolts would work. Also the unit has caused a vibration sound which I have not be able to track down.

The worst product I've ever bought from here, or anywhere else that I can think of.
The box was totaled by the time it got to my house. Holes, parts of the hitch sticking through those holes. Not good.
Cut the box open, it looked ok other than some paint rubbed off from, you guessed it, where it was poking through the holes.
Of course this is minor compared to the fact that the bolts holes are about a half inch short of where they need to be to fit.
The width of it made it almost impossible to put it up into place, but we got it close enough to
put all the bolts in on the drivers side, and could not see the bolts holes on the passengers side.
So yeah, about a half an inch off.
I would take the time to send it back, but after I cut the box open, I no longer have anything to ship it back in.
So I'll be taking it in to modify it so it will work.
The video says ½ to1 hour for install. I'm going to have about 7 hours into this by the time I'm done modifying it.
I've bought 2 other Curt hitches without any problems. This will probably be the last time I even consider buy another one.

After finally getting the right hitch for my vehicle, I have been very happy with it. I recently hauled a very large trailer that was likely oversize for my minivan, so much so that I could not go over 65 on the freeway. But I had no problems whatsoever with the hitch. I am quite satisfied with this purchase and if I have to switch vehicles I will likely want to get another one here.

While we do have other brands that fit your vehicle, we unfortunately do not have any models that install with a hidden crosstube. Those other options are the # C12289, and the # e39KR. • Recommended Wiring Harness and Towing Set Up for a 2007 Dodge Caravan
If you are asking me if there is a Curt wiring harness for your 2007 Dodge Caravan there is one. It is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # C55537. For your 2007 Honda Civic I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch 1-1/4" Receiver Part # C11391. This is a great class I hitch and will allow up to 200 pounds total for the tongue weight capacity. This weight rating is the amount of weight that will load downward onto the hitch. It is definitely capable of carrying a bike rack with your bikes loaded. With your 2006 Dodge Caravan Curt Trailer Hitch 2" Receiver Part # 13389 is going to be the best option. It has a tongue weight rating of 350...

I have a solution for you but to answer your question, no that hitch will not fit a 2005 Dodge Caravan. That hitch isn't in our system but it looks like it is a uhaul hitch receiver for a Subaru Forester. I have two options for you depending on whether or not your buddy has the stow-n-go seats in his van. If he has the stow-n-go seats you're going to want the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver 2" item # 13389. This is a class III hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and a maximum...
