Installing the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch on a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan
Question:
I am installing curt hitch 13389 on a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan with Stow and Go. I am having trouble getting it positioned up and around the spring shackle. I have watched the videos many times but not a clear picture of how they actually get the hitch into position. I am doing this job with van on the ground. Do I need to jack van up so the hitch can hang down lower while moving it into position? Will that make a difference? The videos all use hoists. Thanks for any suggestions.

Raising your 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan off the ground will help in installing the Curt Class III Hitch # 13389.
With the vehicle off the ground, you will give your self more room to manipulate the hitch around the spring shackle to line the hitch up to the mounting holes on the van. Using a jack with jack stands will help for your installation. You will not need to use an automotive lift like the one in our video.
