The 2006 Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan has a towing capacity dependent on the tow package and engine size. The 3.3L V6 can tow 2,000 lbs without or 3,600 lbs with the towing package. The 3.8L v6 can tow 2,000 lbs without or 3,800 lbs with the towing package. Your SXT model has a towing capacity of 3,700 lbs.
If you have stow-n-go seats, I recommend the Curt Class III # 13389 for your trailer hitch receiver. If you do not, then I recommend # C13362.
For your trailer wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118300 which will connect behind the tail lights of your van. This will give you a 4-way flat trailer connection.
For your ball mount, I recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches # 989900. This will give you a few hitch ball options for your trailer coupler size and 2 ball mounts for rise or drop needed. I've attached some videos to assist as well as an article to assist with best fit.
