Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're taking a look at this Shocker Air Receiver Hitch, with cushioned draw bar mount for two inches, hitches with a gross towing capacity of 12,000 pounds. Now, this shock-absorbing receiver hitch provides superior comfort while towing by reducing road shock and chucking using air bag and bumper stop technologies. This hitch features as you see here, an industrial strength air bag, and at the top here, cushioned bump stops, that dampen chucking and road shock. This hooks your trailer to your tow vehicle, with this included cushioned drawbar mount.
Now, this drawbar attachment has an inch in diameter hole to accommodate a variety of towing needs. The bump stops, help soften jerking before it reaches the tow vehicle, so this is gonna be perfect for towing hay wagons, anhydrous tanks, and other farm applications. This mount is zinc plated to prevent rust, and it is not to be used with a hitch ball. Now, as you see here included with this hitch are two easy-to-remove pins. These are large rings, that I can fit up to four fingers through.
They're gonna be easy to grip, and easy to hold onto, so no more fumbling with small hitch pin heads. On the other side here, we have these large safety clips, they're gonna make securing the clips, and the pins very easy. Let me just give you a brief demonstration of how easy this is to adjust, so I'm going to remove these safety clips, we position this here, there we go. Let me get these out of the way, then I'm going to turn this around so you can see the pins and the rings, by the way, these rings can be folded in either direction if you wanted to move them out of your way, So I'm just gonna go ahead and remove my pins. And adjust this just a few levels down, and then secure my pins, put in my clips.
Now, this has a drop range of, a half an inch, to three and a half inches. And we get my clip in there. Alright, and we are secure and ready to go. And the inside width of this channel is three and three quarters inches wide. And then the distance between these vertical adjustment holes is one inch, in between each of those holes.
Now, this is also going to be compatible with Shocker Hitch two inches ball, the sway bar mount, raised ball mount, the clevis mount, the combination ball, the drop mount, and the standard draw bar, all those attachments are sold separately, but you can find them under the related products section of this product page. Now, this hitch works like a teeter-totter, with the air bag on one end, and your trailer coupler on the other end. And as your trailer exerts force downward, the unit pivots and the air bag absorbs the energy. When your trailer jerks backward or pushes forward, these two cushion bump stops reduce the force for a smoother ride. Now, this air bag is easily adjustable. We have the air valve here with the included cap, and when for heavier loads, you would just add more air and for lighter loads, you would just let the air out. And again, the cap is easy to remove and then easy to secure. On the opposite side, we have this Zerk-fitting that's going to allow easy maintenance of this pivot point. And with the grease gun you'll be able to easily grease that point as needed. This is made of a grade 50 steel plate construction and a cold-rolled steel shank to provide maximum durability. The gross towing weight is 12,000 pounds. The tongue weight is 1200 pounds. This is also shot blasted and powder coated to prevent rust. And again, this is going to fit a two inches Trailer Hitch Receiver and the hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8, seven inch. This does not come with a pin and clip. So you would have to either use what you have currently, or buy it separately. However, I would recommend taking a look at the infinite rule, locking pins for shocker hitch ball mounts, for two inches and two and a half inch hitches. You will get three locking pins, one to lock this Shocker Hitch, to your receiver hitch on the back of your vehicle, and then you will get two other pins to lock your attachments to your Shocker Hitch. So that would be a great way to secure your investment. You can find those pins using item number IR39FR on our website. Now, speaking of these hitch pin holes, the distance from the first hitch pin hole to the center of the drawbar attachment hole is gonna be right at 13 and a half inches. And then from the second hitch pin hole, to the center of the drawbar attachment hole, we're gonna be sitting right at 14 and a half inches. And the distance below the receiver tube from the bottom of the receiver tube is gonna be five inches below this receiver tube. Now, some important installation tips. This does require a minimum of seven inches clearance, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear most portion of your tow vehicle. And the receiver opening should be flush with the bumper or protruding from the rear of the vehicle for best fit. Finally, a two inch, Shocker Air receiver will not fit a two and a half inch hitch even with a reducer sleeve as trucks with a two and a half inch hitch have deeper frames. And a two and a half inch Shocker Air Receiver will fit a 3 inch hitch with a reducer sleeve. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I hope it was helpful. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
